Marble Slab Creamery — Restaurant in Calgary

I love marble slab and have been going to the chain for years. This experience did not live up. I ordered cheesecake ice cream, which is white. When the employee went to scoop the cheesecake, she dropped it in a blue ice cream container. While she disposed of that scoop, she used the same scooper which was covered in blue ice cream. There also didn’t seem to be enough cheesecake left for another scoop. She scrapped what was left, which was mostly melted. I ended up with half a cup of melted cheesecake ice cream swirled with blue ice cream. When she handed it to me, I mentioned that it seemed quite melted. She responded by saying “yes, we’re having a problem with the temperature”. When I indicated that perhaps it wasn’t up to quality, she responded by saying “it’s a one time thing”. That was an odd response. She knew that what she was giving me was bad but just indicated that it’ll be better next time? We always have liked to go to Marble slab as we have one by our house and they have always provided excellent quality and service. This was not the case when we went to the Marble slab at Market Mall yesterday. My wife wanted to have a chocolate brownie sundae. They used cheap store bought chocolate sundae syrup which was not even warmed up. The brownies were so cold, hard and stale that my wife thought she would break her teeth. The only thing that was edible was the ice cream. When my wife showed the clerk she agreed and threw them out and when we asked to talk to a manager or the owner she said they were not in and that was that. There are a good number of choices to choose from, but not all of them are of great quality. They sell the ice creams based on weight, and you can have up to three flavours in the large cone. What you choose, they add certain other ingredients to the ice cream to make the one you want. I ordered chocolate cake ice cream, for which they take chocolate ice cream, brownies, and chocolate chips. The brownie was rock solid, and the indication that those extras are not fresh at all by any means.
