The pizza dimensions are smaller than you expect for a "medium" or "large" but that's because they are much deeper. You get just as much food, but it's more toppings and less bread.
This is a high-end pizza joint, and the food is much better than the chains... but the other reviews here made me think it would be amazing, and it was only good.
The biggest "problem" I had with the pizza was the sauce. I put "problem" in quotes because it wasn't bad, but it could be improved. There was a standard runny wattered down tomato sauce under the toppings. This works, but adding oregano and basil would make it better. The sauce was a bit bland.
In addition, this is deep dish pizza. The extra cheese on top means extra oil baking out of it. The oil got trapped in the sauce layer. Either changing the bread to be more absorbant or making the sauce thicker (closer to pure tomato paste) could alleviate this problem.
The table we sat at was too small, and our legs didn't really fit. The owner did warn us that it was; so I blame my friends, not the store for the discomfort. (But the booth by the cash is small, so watch out.)
The bathroom had a chair in it that was positioned creepily to watch the urinal. Seemed odd, but not a major problem as no one was...
Read moreThe food was so good! It's a very tiny restaurant, only about 12 tables or so, and many were covered with papers and boxes, but to be fair it was almost 6pm on a flames home game.
Everyone at the table had pizza, but I had fish and chips. The pizzas were like little personal deep pan pizza. So much cheese and toppings, perfect amount of sauce and baked to perfection.
The fish and chips came with a salad and garlic toast. The fries were frozen steak cut fries, the fish was really good and two huge pieces. I asked for a vinaigrette for my salad, but got a cup of just balsamic vinegar on the side.
They had a decent drink menu and carried some of our favourite local beers including strawberry milkshake beer and...
Read moreI thought it’d be good to get a good pie pre - Iron Maiden at the S’ Dome - did some quick research and this place had solid reviews. First time here and it was really good. Reminds me of a pizza joint in the North East (U.S. that is - think old school Boston)….Got a medium #18 - had nice thick cut green peppers, good CA pepperoni and shrooms in a heap of cheese. Best of all 2 beers at HH are like $5.50! Can’t go wrong. A medium is enough to feed 2 grown adults imo. Sit upstairs and the very nice Amber (I hope) will take good care of you. Don’t be fooled by the photo - the crust wasn’t overcooked- just had a good crunch to it. Hope to go again next time...
