Ola Poke — Restaurant in Calgary

I met my husband here for lunch today and we weren't disappointed. I read in the reviews that the staff don't fill the bowls enough but I didn't find that a problem. When we walked in we we're greeted by the friendly and knowledgeable staff, then asked if it was our first time (must have been obvious as we stared at the menu salivating). Once we decided on what to eat the employee behind the counter asked if he'd put enough rice in my bowl before moving on to toppings, so I'd imagine you could get more if you wanted. The quality of the ingredients is really what you pay for. The bowls start at about 13 dollars and go higher depending on the premium toppings you choose, and if you think about it, that's what a good sushi roll starts at so I wasn't upset by the price at all. I had to attend a 15 minute meeting in the attached office Tower and had to travel from Edmonton to Calgary that morning. When I arrived I asked to use the washroom and was told that the office tower facilities were closed but the restaurant downstairs had a bathroom.

The staff refused to let me use their facilities, even though I explained my plight, having just arrived from a 3hour drive, was well dressed with briefcase.

I know COVID requires us to be more diligent when it comes to cleaning, I am also a small business owner, and we don't even have a customer bathroom, but have always let people use our staff bathroom. We have to clean it often, but that is the new norm.
