absolutely foul i got a California roll, and a sunshine roll, and a Boba tea. The huge containers of soya sauce witch even my ten year old said tasted off was the first thing. Price was very high considering the quality 38 bucks? For a premade California rolls one other one and a drink? Cheaper at an actual reastraunt.I wish I had taken a picture cuz I was there with my three kids on a raining afternoon trying to rush lunch before a drs visit. My sunshine roll had brown salmon on the outside the first on or two ate looked fin,and the last end was completely brown. And I was just eating so fast trying to watch my kids my daughter said mom thats rotten!!!! When I looked down and realized I had eaten this brown salmon. Oh and let me tell you 7 hours later I was stuck on the toliet for 13 hours straight, while also puking into the garbage pail. Ended up finally sleeping on the bathroom floor the next morning. Days later im finnaly starting to feel somewhat better. To make this post avoid at all costs. And yes I ate it any one who had three young kids just trying to eat I didn't see it was brown and when I seen it I immediately felt so disgusted and mad I just threw it away cuz we were going to be late. The fact they seen the color of brown rotten fish,as it was a "fresh" made roll and still served that to me is. A disgusting bisness and had no regard for me of my children's health or anyone else they...

I've rated many sushi places and I don't understand the low ranking of this branch!

I read the bad reviews on here, but they don't make any sense (most of them anyway).

Well here's my review:

The server was very kind, smiling and handing me everything with both hands (a Japanese tradition).

The space is small, and they make your rolls in front of you. They have a machine that presses rice, so I don't understand the reviews that mention stale/cold prepared rice. The chef wears gloves, he's not the cashier who deals with menus, and he cleaned his gloves, the table, and the used utensils after making each roll.

The food was very well presented (check pictures), and it was absolutely delicious! I can actually confidently say that this is one of the best I've had in Calgary.

The Soy sauce they provide is indeed sweet, but I prefer it this way, so that's a matter of preference.

On the down side, the portion is a bit small compared to what you pay, but since it's a food court fast food chain, I think that's to be...

This review is written as a direct comparison to Sushi Shop Deerfoort Meadows

Portions were served as predominantly rice. For the veggie bowl I counted 4 pieces of pepper, 2 pieces of cucumber, 7 edamame beans a dash of avocado and a splash of mayo. It was marginally better for the chicken at a glance (I don't eat it), but just expensive rice for the substance.

Flavor and freshness ok, but inadequate on the whole as I was expecting what I get at Deerfoot branch.

Deefoot's offerings on same menu are delicious and everyone I have had try it has loved it.

I complained and got 50% of the one dish and was left wanting for an actual lunch.

Please retrain your staff so the chain offers like for like when...

I ordered the salmon sashimi combo today and was really impressed! The salmon slices were thick, evenly cut, and had a beautiful fresh color. They literally melted in my mouth. The cucumber rolls had perfectly cooked rice with a refreshing crunch, and the seaweed salad was crisp and flavorful. The staff were friendly, service was quick, and the packaging was neat and clean. Highly recommended!
