I hate giving bad reviews but I won't mince words or pretend otherwise. I've been waiting since before the lockdown to go to Greta and try their food. I was really happy when we decided to go there yesterday and try it out. We all have the quarter pounder with the fries. We elected to have the mac sauce instead of mustard and ketchup.
The burgers arrived in paper aluminum bags, giving that 1970s greasy spoon feel, but I guess people find that's a current food truck thing. I didn't mind it although things looked a little flat. The burgers came out and they were flat, not crushed just looking sad and thin. The Buns just look like they collapsed. Most of the burgers at the table were lukewarm, and that's being optimistic. It made me think the food sat around instead of getting delivered soon after being cooked. That didn't make any sense because the place wasn't at capacity and there was a lot of stuff. Perhaps it was an oversight. I don't know. The mac sauce was pretty good, quite close to McDonald's, but it's a $9 Burger. This is equivalent to Five Guys double Patty or something at Burger's Priest. Instead I get something that was quite flat, barely warm and was just okay. I don't know how else to compare it in the market, but I would say it was a six and a half dollar burger at which point you might as well get a Big Mac or something at Five Guys.
The fries were lukewarm also. I think they might have been good in terms of taste and texture had they been warm but we barely got any. It was literally a small coffee cups worth oh, and there are similar places around town where you paid 9 bucks and you get five times as much and they are excellent. How do I know? We had to meet some friends afterwards at another location where one of them ordered 9 dollar fries and they were Bountiful and fantastic. At Greta it was $4 for 1/5 of the amount.
Finally, something that irks me as I like to be conservative and not be wasteful. Everybody received the plastic cutlery set with straw and napkin. Out of all that stuff we only use the fork. It's very non environmentally friendly and wasteful. I'm speculating that the thought behind this is due to covid-19 it's more hygienic to be disposable. Considering that we've been to four restaurants since the city opened up in every place used cutlery makes me think this doesn't make sense, especially since I grew up in the restaurant business. If the staff can put things down with gloves they can put down cutlery on a sanitize table on top of a napkin or have everything sitting in a glass or whatever. I just don't think this is positive. I'm also going to speculate that this part of the review is going to be seen as being way off the mark, but it's not because it's unnecessary and feels lazy. I'm not saying it is lazy, it...
Read moreThis place is pretty fun. The food is good for the price. I like how you can walk up to the food truck. It’s a fun atmosphere! I can spend hours here and not get bored. It’s busy and fun on the weekends. I like going earlier so we can sit for a while before it gets busy and we dance. The music on the weekends is okay if you like dancing to Journey and Bon Jovi. The bouncer with the red hair has bothered me more than once however. The first time was when I was sending my friend off in a cab and realized I was out of data to call my own uber to get home. I told him I was connecting to the wifi to call an Uber however he insisted I go out to the sidewalk because he couldn’t have me on their massive patio entrance area for 10 seconds while I called my uber. The other time was a different night when there was a line I wanted to see what the wait time was like so I asked the people at the front if it was really long wait. They said it wasn’t too bad so we waited in the line and when I got to the front the same bouncer said “I don’t really like when people try and cut in line.” He was referring to when I had asked the people at the front about the wait time and I had to explain to him that I wasn’t trying to cut in line. I didn’t enjoy being treated as if I was causing trouble by just being there. There also was the time when they had DJ Tyco in the booth playing the same 3 songs over again for about 20 minutes so I went up and asked him why he was only playing 3 songs? He was clearly heavily intoxicated and after I asked him about it, he repeated song 1/3 another time. Too drunk to DJ I guess? Other than that I’ve had good experiences and would recommend checking this place out! I’d like to be treated with more respect by the bouncers. I’d love to hear better...
Read moreOur experience was a mixed one, which is why we’ve rated it 3 stars. We hosted a birthday party for my son’s 18th birthday with 6–9 guests coming and going throughout the evening. Roughly spent $400-$500.
Highlights:
The food was excellent. We ordered a variety of items from the menu for everyone to enjoy, and it did not disappoint. Additionally, the party purchased two game packages, and we were all thoroughly impressed. The selection of games was fantastic, and there was something fun for everyone to play.
Areas for Improvement:
Unfortunately, the service fell short of expectations. The issues began with the initial server, who made several errors with our orders. Drinks we requested didn’t arrive, while others were brought that no one had ordered. This caused frustration and consumed a lot of my time, tracking down the server.
The shift change further complicated matters. The new server showed little interest in our table, often walking around aimlessly and neglecting us. Several guests had to go to the bar themselves to get drinks—on more than one occasion. Additionally, the servers seemed unable to take more than one or two orders at a time, consistently missing others at the table.
To make matters worse, when the shift change occurred, the bill was not separated properly. We had to pay it as a lump sum and sort it out ourselves later, which was a significant inconvenience.
Conclusion:
While the food and games were excellent, the service left much to be desired and detracted from an otherwise enjoyable evening. With some improvements in staff training and organization, this venue has the potential to offer a much...
