This restaurant requires reservations otherwise they only take "a limited number of walk-ins per day". So you either need to make a reservation or you're basically on standby. That said, you can't make a reservation for the outside patio. Yes you heard me correctly, you cannot reserve for the outside patio during the summer. I opted to make a reservation for the inside patio (rather than walking in on standby and being turned away) and under the special notes I said we would like to sit on the outdoor patio instead. I was told by staff on the phone that sometimes they don't open their outside patio even in the summer which I found extremely bizarre so I decided to call one hour before our reservation time to ensure the outdoor patio was open (even though it was a hot sunny summer day) and I was told yes it was. We arrived at our reservation time and had to wait in a jam-packed lobby for 10 minutes while they got our table ready even though we had a reservation. When we were finally walked to the outside patio it was completely empty except for one other table so I'm not quite sure what took 10 minutes to get ready. Of all the tables on the outside patio only one didn't have an umbrella and that's where they tried to seat us and it was also a table for 10 and we were a party of 2. When we asked to sit at any of the other tables that had a sun umbrella because it's a hot sunny day, we were told no. We then asked if they could move a sun umbrella to the table they were making us sit at and received no response. We were then asked to wait another 5 minutes on the hot patio and then we were told we were approved by management to sit at another table beside the other table that was already dining. At this point we haven't even been seated yet and we already felt like we were in the Twilight Zone. We were told that they might not be able to seat people at the outside patio because they weren't sufficiently staffed. Why aren't you sufficiently staffed on a Saturday long weekend in the summer on a beautiful hot sunny day? Our server was very kind but seemed to have trouble putting plates together to take away even though there was only 2 of us. At one point she asked me if I wanted a clean plate for my next course of food to which I replied yes. Why would I not want to clean plate for my next course of food that hasn't come out yet, what a strange question from a professional server. No, I want to eat different food off a dirty plate that has sauce from previous food, why would you even ask me that. The dumbest part is she replaced my companion's plate and then asked me if I wanted a new plate. Again, Twilight Zone. We asked for pineapple to be added on to our pizza and we're told that the kitchen does not do any substitutions. Again, never heard of this in my life. Instead we were brought raw wet pineapple in a side bowl maybe two tablespoons worth and charged for it on the bill. If the kitchen wouldn't put pineapple on the pizza was it too much trouble for them to put the pineapple in a frying pan and at least sear it for 30 seconds especially when they're charging us. Does this restaurant not make its pizza from scratch on order or is it just pre-frozen pizzas ad that would be the only reasonable explanation. What about people who have food allergies and are asking for something to be removed - do they refuse that also? When we asked for our bill to be separated both of our bills were wrong and both of our bills we were being charged for extra items we did not order. When we pointed this out to the server she said are you sure you didn't order that so basically calling us liars after we had just told her no. She then silently turned away and walked away and my companion saw her talking to someone, presumably her manager, and staring at us for at least 5 minutes before she returned with the proper bills with zero acknowledgment and zero apology for her erroneous billing and false accusations. We will not...
Read moreWent here tonight with a reservation, and excited to try out a new place after seeing how popular it has been, short form; What a Disappointment.
Firstly ~ I had a reservation for 9:30pm, and STILL waited outside for 45 minuets. I’d personally say that’s unacceptable. The waiting area being outside is dreadful, no heaters and only one long bench full of other people also waiting to get in, forcing my partner and I to stand the whole time. Off to a bad start.
Secondly ~ Our waitress was lovely on first impression! Gave us recommendations on drink’s and food, first impressions were good.
Ordered some drinks, and two Pizza’s. one Margherita & one “Wild Thing”
Drinks were good! No complaints here on that front, but waitress NEVER brought water to the table.
Pizza’s were interesting, the dough is quite tough and crunchy. With the Margherita the dough was okay, but with the “Wild Thing” it wasn’t very good. The pizza actually just tasted like bread & Kale, no taste of cheese or truffled ricotta. (Apparently there’s mushrooms also?!)
Thirdly ~ After the initial taking of the order & bringing our drinks, we NEVER once saw our waitress again. No “how is everything” No “would you like another round of drinks” (I would have loved to order another round) No checking in after food. I had to actually get a different waiter to ask for pizza box & bill, only after that our waitress came back.
Once I asked for a box, I was told they NO LONGER had SMALL pizza boxes, and they didn’t come with a solution at the table. So we ended up cramming pizza slices in what I think was to go containers for bowls.
Waitress then dropped off the bill and DIDN’T come with the machine. I had to wait another TEN yes TEN minuets (I timed it) for her to come with the machine. (Maybe this is why it takes so long to get in the door…….)
Needless to say the service here is frankly awful, and borderline frustrating as a customer.
I understand the place is busy, but they should always be checking in on the customers. It’s possible the staff here have too large of area to overlook, and management should maybe look into downsizing the amount of tables the staff takes care of, for a better customer experience.
Overall ~ I don’t think this place is worth your lost time of just waiting around, for mediocre food and poor service. Lots of competitors in the area, that just do it better.
Side note: the sound system is so base heavy, everything...
Read moreI came here tonight with a reservation. We were greeted by the friendly hosts, and checked in. We waited to the side as they were about to have someone take us over, but the group who came in after was seated first. Odd, but maybe their table was ready. We sat down and thought the happy hour looked great, and put an order in. We got the calamari, which came out in good timing, however the plate was scorching hot, with no heads up from the staff. The bowl was placed at the end of the table away from us, so when i went to pull it over, i was met with the surprise of a piping hot ceramic bowl that was hotter than our food, and had to have sat in the heat window for at least 20 minutes. I tried to give grace as i work in a similar restaurant, but this was definitely a safety hazard as my hands are now slightly blistered. I let our server, Avina know and even she was surprised no one let us know to be careful. Our appies were good, and we were happy with our choices, besides the temperature. Our pizza then came out, which took a generous amount of time. It looked amazing, however as soon as we touched it, we realized it was room temp as if it had sat on a counter. We let our server know, but did not ask for a remake, nor were we offered one. We told her it was fine seeing as though it took so long the first time. When we ordered our second round of drinks off happy hour, we asked if the bulldogie was included, as it wasn’t on the exclusion list. We were told yes, and ordered them. Our bill arrived, to be met with the drinks full price. I had clarified that they were on happy hour, to be responded to with “Actually no, sorry about that” as she walked away to grab change with nothing following. As far as guest satisfaction goes, this was one of the lowlights of our evening. I really wanted to avoid leaving this review as I work in the industry, and went to look for a manager to speak with them directly. There wasn’t one on the floor by the looks of it, so it sucks that I feel I have to share my negative feedback this way. I’m not sure that I would return, as there’s many other chains like this one that I know would not disappoint. Nothing outstandingly negative about our server, she was lovely conversation and made sure we had everything we needed, i just think some of these concerns could have been handled in a...
