TLDR: overpriced food, that tastes bad, most was inedible and thrown out. There is a much better place 1 minute away down the street that selflessly gives free food to the community in need all day every day. Help by bringing your business there while eating some of the best Indian cuisine in the area.

Have since tried the food. Some items sub par, others terrible. Small portions(example: pulao rice for $5.50 is a single small size take out container bowl, also it's terrible, just oil and green peas in rice. No spices at all). Other dishes are too salty or too spicy not but in the good way(example: vegetable biryani was so salty and spicy I couldn't eat more than 2 bites. If you like spicy, it didn't have the complexities of Indian spices. Just spicy).
Aloo paratha was too salty, was too spicy as well, but at least added depth this time.
Vegetable korma was exactly like the vegetable biryani way too salty and spicy. Didn't actually have much vegetables in it so I wasn't sure what was edible in this dish. The vegetable biryani had more veges in it. Also tasted about the same with salt and spicy being the main flavours. So i would just order the vegetable biryani and skip this dish. Then proceed to not eat it and throw it away like it did.
Malai kofta. This was okay actually. Says there is vegetables, but had none. Must have been in the cheese balls? Cheese balls were pretty salty again, but evens out covered in the sauce that is like a store bought butter chicken sauce that comes in a glass jar.
Spent $50.50 before tax. Only ate the 1 small bowl of pulao rice shared between 3 people. Half the aloo paratha in the malai kofta. Made more rice at home myself to eat with the Malai kofta. Threw everything else out because it was inedible. 3 people barely ate any of this "food"
My opinion still stands. Go down the street where you are greeted nicely and support a business that selflessly supports our community while also getting food that is edible.
Original: Ordered take out. I sent my wife in to pick it up and the person helping her was very confrontational. Literally demanded and not ask her to show our order confirmation. Which is fine, but he had also walked up a foot from my wife's face when he said this. Rude in normal circumstances, unacceptable in covid times. She showed a screenshot which he did not accept saying it's a screenshot and was unacceptable. so I came in to the store with my order confirmation. I asked my wife if that's our food and the employee snaps back I should check our order without even looking at my order confirmation. I asked "would be incorrect?" He remarks "you know, human error". So I proceed to open the bag to check, but he told me I only need to check the order list while standing less than a foot shoulder to shoulder and pointing at the order slip. How does that make sense? Human error can be wrong packing the bag? Reading the list?
Haven't tasted the food yet, but already have a bad taste in my mouth. There are other great Indian cuisine restaurants around. There is one down the street 1 minute away that feeds the unfortunate for free. Even before covid and I'm sure have been helping more since. Please just bring your business to them. They deserve it and their food is absolutely delicious, but thought I'd give lazzez a try....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey say life is composed of fate and choices. Well, both of these brought my lady and I to Lazzez's Grill Indian Cuisine last Friday evening. We missed our turn-off for Fort Langley, and wound up in Coquitlam. Hungry, and craving Indian food, I searched Google for local Indian restaurants, and that's how we chose Lazzez's. And what a fortunate choice and twist of fate it was.
Although a little awkward to find, as the 2700 blk seems somewhat split up on this stretch of Barnett highway (it is on the right if you're traveling East), it's well worth finding. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable. We were promptly greeted and seated by the owner. A friendly, wonderful man we were to find out later was named, Gagan. As we browsed through the extensive menu, Gagan recommended an Indian beer, Taj Mahal. Great recommendation. Nice lager/pils style beer! Our order was taken quickly. Very attentive owners and staff! We ordered: Garlic Naan, Chicken Pakora, Lamb Biryani, Chicken Vindaloo, and Mango Chutney. We were asked our preferred spice level, and both agreed to - HOT!
The Pakora's and Naan arrived promptly. Both were fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully prepared. The Pakora's were tender, juicy inside. And lightly coated and slightly crispy outside. Delicious.
Shortly after we finished the appies. Gagan's lovely wife served us the main courses, and another 2 beers ;-). My lady and I shared our plates. She is from New York, and has had Chicken Vindaloo in many "high end" Indian Restaurants. And she was BLOWN AWAY. She said it was among the best, if not the best she'd ever tasted. I love Lamb Biryani, and have been spoiled with very good Biryani....and this was the best I've had. Fresh lamb, cooked perfectly. Fresh spices and beautiful aroma.
We enjoyed a few chats with both Gagan and his lovely wife (sorry dear that I couldn't completely recall your name). It's definitely a family affair. The chef is her brother. Just wonderful people. These young restaurant owners deserve success. So everyone out there....support them. They will bend over backwards to please your senses and your palate. Delicious food and service. You can taste the effort and love in every bite. And you're treated like a guest in their house. A wonderful experience. We will be going back every time we...

I am of Indian descent and NEVER go out for Indian food because I find it either too oily or salty, and hastily thrown together in comparison to homemade. Lazzez's Grill has definitely changed that for me. I went with a group of friends from a variety of backgrounds and they all loved their meal (even including the two very picky foodies with super high standards).
The food here was ridiculously good! The best vegetable pakoras I have ever had! (Large chunks of veggies, crispy, and not dripping with oil). The owner recommended the Daal Makhani, lamb buna, chicken korma, chicken tikka, as well as a few other dishes, every single one of them was perfectly seasoned, and most importantly the quality and care taken to make them is evident. The quality and quantity of food is wonderful, and you get a great value for the price.
The owner is friendly, and personable and comes to the table to check in on you and see how your meal was. You are definitely treated well, and you cannot complain about the service.
It was a great experience and will now be my go to takeout place when entertaining, I'll definitely be recommending this restaurant to friends, and will be going back on a...
