Greetings, This place used to be very good in Food and service However for last few visits to Kathir gave me a very disappointing service specially my last visit on Sunday August 19th at 5 pm.
3 weeks ago we went to Kathir at 9.20pm and did not get fine service , and Server replied to us that they are closing store soon so they are running fast, even they missed serving Chicken 65 to us.
But on August 19th we thought to give one more try to Kathir and probably that was very wrong decision.
We were given only 1 menu for 7 people on table, when asked, Server gave us one more menu.... So only 2 menu for 7 people. We ordered appetizers and main course separately, but all dishes can in jumbled order (main course was coming before appetizers)
Dosa and Uttapam was very disappointing, broken Dosa and semi cooked Uttapam ( even I asked for Well cooked ) ruined our experience over all.
We all felt partiality because Same server was giving excellent service and food on 2 tables besides us (not to mention those tables were not east indian ) The worst experience happened while leaving, we asked for Manager , and 2nd server was confused whom to ask, he asked the senior Server and Snr. Server replied him "Let it be"
Whom wants to go to a place where even employee doesn't know how to handle...
Read moreKathir is this little gem of a restaurant that never fails to cheer us up. The dosas are fantastic, as are the idli and vadas. We bring out of town friends here often, and now they're off trying dosas in Vegas to see if they're as good. The service is always gracious and they're quick! We recently used a groupon to try out their Sunday buffet. The menu varies every week, which is a nice surprise. The sweet and sour chicken soup was spot on and the mutton curry was gorgeous. I'm always a little wary of mutton because of that slight on the hoof smell that often creeps its way in - that wasn't the case here! The meat was soft and flavourful, a tad spicy, but just right. I wasn't sure about dishes like the chicken tikka masala because I thought - hey, that's a North Indian dish. The chef did it justice though - it was light, mildly sweet, creamy and went really well with the mutton curry! - if you mix the two up as you dip your idlis or parottas in. The parotta was my least favourite, but still not bad. We're trying to support restaurants we like to see them survive through these trying times - Kathir is one we'd go...
Read moreI have been going to this restaurant for years, my experience is always positive. However, today it was awful. First, my glass of water was dirty, it looked like there was some sort of debris floating around inside of it. Then when we ordered the parantha it was completely inedible. It was so stiff and so dry we could not eat it. It was like a rock. Then, the icing on the cake was finding a HAIR in one of the dosas we ordered. This is completely inexcusable. The hair was found INSIDE of the dosa stuck in between the cheese. It was absolutely disgusting. Now, I wonder how many other times this has happened, to others and to myself. Even when I spoke with the manager of the restaurant, they could not give me a clear answer, all he said was that they try their best and that these things happen sometimes. These types of things should never happened in a restaurant. It incredibly unprofessional and just gross. They did however comp the one dosa off of our bill. I do not recommend this restaurant if you care about hygiene at all. Will definitely not be...
