It’s been a long time (more than I can remember since our Canadian friend brought us all here, we’re 12 Filipino contract workers that time). The ambiance was great as well as the foods and the services offered, we even have the time of singing thru karaoke and really have fun the whole time! It was great and we keep coming back esp because of their sumptous and varities of foods in the buffet area👍 Times passedby and the frequency of our visits drop from once in a month to none due to more competitive Filipino restaurants opened in the city. Last night, Feb 8, 2022 was the worst experienced I’ve got from this place and promise myself not even to go back there anymore (as I’ve done it for more than so many years). Coming from the northside and visited a friend from Ellerslie area, before heading home we decided to passby to Tapsilog Resto but they’re closed for business every Tuesday😌. I told my friend dont worry there’s another best place to eat Filipino foods, and that’s the Palabok House and then the worst thing happened😡 -nobody even attempt to asked us nor talked to us but we patiently waiting seeing them working on with some pick ups and other things at the counter on the very far left end; -but when the lady steps in the counter where we are standing upfront and still ignore us, then that’s the time I decided to pull my friend outside the place to avoid any arguments because of the lack of attention and cold treatment we received from them👎 Luckiky, Jollibee is just 5minutes away from this place and we got all the satisfaction we never got from this Palabok...
Read moreWorst customer service I’ve experienced among the Filipino restaurant that I went to in Edmonton and Calgary. • We were not asked if we need something to drink. They just give us a pitcher of tap water (thank you for that anyway) • Menu was not given to us upon sitting in our table, we asked for it. • Only 2 staff were there during lunch time, between 12nn - 1pm (1 lady, who was also taking take out orders). In addition, a part timer staff (approximately 14-17 yr old boy) is not trained enough to serve the customers well. • The owner (?) or the manager doesn’t have personal interaction with fellow Filipino customers instead she is very happy to served the white customers. • The lady that served the food didn’t said any word. Not even, “enjoy your food” or not even a smile. • Plates were removed from our table without asking if we are done eating. • I know that this resto is one of the pioneer among the Filipino restaurants in Edmonton, but you need to step up with the Excellent service that Casa Laurel (97th St.) and Summerside Grill (south) give to its customers. Both restaurants owners make sure that you will receive not only good food but also excellent...
Read moreWhat started out as a nice evening yesterday ended up in a disaster. We ordered three dishes and an appetizer and was reassured that none of them had shrimp in it. When we received our Pancit Hab-Hab (#37), I noticed shrimp on top. I told our waitress that we were given the wrong order as the dish we got had shrimp in it and it was not as described on the menu. The order should only be pork. She took the dish back into the kitchen and told us that this time there is no shrimp as the kitchen made a new one. My fiancé was the first one to dig in and he ended up eating a small piece of shrimp that was buried into the noodles. He got extremely sick right afterwards. We mentioned this to our waitress. She felt terrible about the situation. I told her that the new dish the kitchen made was still wrong as it also had chicken it. Still not as described on the menu. She told us that the menu has not been updated. Please be wary if you have any food allergies or intolerances, as what is described on the menu may not be accurate. We did not get charge for the dish. We will not be returning to this...
