I enjoyed the meal me and my family had. This restaurant is not your typical western chinese food restaurant. The dishes I chose lean more towards the palates of western chinese food. I am not chinese so I would consider this place to be very traditional. With that being said, I am a huge fan of spicy foods so I found this place to be excellent in their choice of flavours and spices. They do specialize in authentic dishes from the Yunnan Province where they are big on spicy cuisine-something to keep in mind. They have chili indicators to tell you how spicy the dish is so you don’t have to worry about choosing something super spicy. I have found that my go to places for chinese food has been within Chinatown and this is more south so its a little bit of a trek if you live downtown or north. I believe because of the authentic/traditional dishes, the prices were a tad bit high. They have a very expansive menu it was hard to choose cause you just want to choose all of them! All in all i think if you are looking for authentic chinese food this would be an excellent place to check out!

Read moreVisited Yun Zhu Nan twice with my friends. It was my first restaurant experience. And it was a Good experience.
According to my friend who visits the place all the time, the food is authentic. And I can vouch for that after my second experience with the restaurant.
Almost Gives you a feel of Chinese culture. A bit on the conservative and proper side, but the food was awesome!
Had the potato chicken and a beef dish the second time, and, mouthwatering chicken, the same potato and chicken dish, lotus root dish and taro dessert the first time.
Quiet talks, it feels like you can’t express yourself with confidence much, can’t say cozy, makes you fee a bit edgy, but it is worth an experience!
I’d suggest you give them a try. Everybody has different...
Read moreThe flavours are great but its quite clear that the cheapest quality of meats are being used. I ordered a spicy lamb dish and as soon as I opened the container, all I could see are grisly pieces of meat. I threw it out. What a shame. Also a beef stew dish I ordered had a strange texture to it so that its was more slimy than it was chunks of beef and was so greasy... it was uneditable. This is from poor quality meat. Another dish thrown out. Its a shame because the flavours were diverse and my fish soup was wonderful but I would not order from here again.
Also, the majority of the items on their online menu are only written in chinese with no photos so you can’t order online. I guess they dont want non-chinese...
