Bulwark Cider House — Restaurant in Halifax

I went in with the intention or buying some non-alcoholic drinks for a friend's birthday, I was in pretty early in the say so can't speak to the business of the place but they are in a nice location so I can imagine it gets pretty packed in the evening. The server was pleasant, greeted me quickly and was very helpful with my options both helping me find exactly what I was looking for as well as introducing the new drinks (both alcohol and non). Allowed me some samples of the new stuff and was left alone to think about my buying options. We had a bizarre experience literally minutes ago. We arrived slightly before six and walked past the bar to a table. Two people were sitting at the bar with drinks. The bar staff was making food. We sat by the window and waited. No one came. I heard one of the people at the bar ask if the staff (presumably) wanted him to take care of the table. The staff said no, she would get it.

My friend walked past the bar and caught the staff’s eye, figuring it would prompt someone to take our order. That didn’t happen. So, after 15 minutes, we left. The staff wished us good bye and good evening as we walked out.

Bulwark Cider House has both a store and a sit in area where you can order a flight of their ciders or individual glasses of ciders. A few 4-person and 2-person tables were available throughout the small shop. Quite a chill spot and the ambiance is good to bring a date. They serve pizza on certain nights which is a plus if you’re hungry at the same time. The person at the counter was able to recommend beverages that we really enjoyed and ultimately bought four bottles to enjoy.
