Fantastic. Like a little Japanese-korean coffee house appeared in the sky and landed in Halifax. Key here is it's Asian-fusion pastry cozy. Great for second date, small groups, late sweet snack, catching up with friends. Coffee is phenomenal, pastries awesome. You'll pay a little bit extra premium for the amazing options and quality of ingredients, but it's totally worth it.

For latin american peeps, there are "melon bread" pieces here that are the best small conchas you've ever had. It's a regular staple for us in terms of pan dulce.

Grab a red bean loaf, split it between 2-3 people with warm drinks. Just missing a Halifax fog, and they're starting with non-pork options for savoury treats (yay all-beef!). Vegetarian options are here too, but vegan options not quite yet due to their dough. Specialty drinks also generally top-notch.

Another gem in Halifax that elevates the city.

Update: still amazing - the quality and care that goes into the food here is unreal. They have milk buns that are like the perfected version of Mexican pan dulce conchas - but unreal, like biting into a vanilla cloud. It's the weekly treat now. Staff is amazing - please stay kind!

Update: still keeping the magic, there's amazing artistry here. Make sure to come early for special-event cakes, for example mother's day. See the photo! Come early for better selection since locals regularly leave with entire sports teams of bear custards! My only wish: Natural colours...

A totally disrespectful experience. 0/10

My wife paid $70 for a cake (including a nice tip) since it was my birthday. When I cut the cake, the frosting tasted significantly sour. On my own birthday, I go to the store and politely inform the lady there that we tasted a small piece out of the cake and found the icing very pungent (90% of the cake still untouched). I told her that it could be that the frosting could have fermented a bit, or maybe it was something else.

Her response: "It tastes fine to me, if it does not taste fine to you, not my problem", hands me the cake, and walks away.

Three important notes: At any point, I did not ask for a refund or feel entitled to argue on anything. (I understand baking a cake is not a definitive process) The cake was sour, but the lady who was handling this was much, much bitter. I don't mean to post a negative review out of spite, but where I come from, we treat customers with a little more...

a friend took me to this place about a year ago. i decided to go in today while i was in the area. the counter with all the cakes and sweets looked absolutely wonderful (and delicious). the atmosphere is very cozy– a great spot for reading or studying.

i ordered an iced oreo mocha and a beef sausage bun. the iced mocha was PERFECT for a sweet tooth craving. p.s. they used real whipped cream. the beef sausage bun was great, the pastry was fluffy and soft and overall very satisfying.

the service was excellent! i was given kind and prompt service. creamy rainbow is definitely a great place to visit for a relaxing, pleasant, lo-fi vibe.

i look forward to coming back again, thank you for the...

Under-rated. Please check this place out. It's a great bakery, they do their own baking. Prices are competitive with or better than the other high quality bakeries like the Gingerbread House and The Old Apothecary. My 7 year old niece is a macaron connoisseur and said that theirs is a 10/10. I also had an eclair and a lemon tart, both were excellent. Beyond the taste, the look of stuff from here is just beautiful. They have a very cool doggie cake that I didn't try but looks beautiful. I took to go, but the place is nice and quiet and a wonderful spot for a date. Easy to make a day out if it and a picnic on Citadel Hill. It's only been open for 5 months so far.
