My husband, best friend, and I enjoyed one of the best dinner experiences we’ve had in a long time. Absolutely in my top 3 restaurants throughout Canada (we are foodies that travel a lot!) The local oysters were so fresh, modestly sized and paired well with the accompaniments. The charred cabbage topped with crispy almond and magic was so delicious (not a spot on the plate left behind), the Icelandic Cod was cooked to perfection, and paired with such flavourful vegetables and sauce. I could eat that every night of the week! The beef tartar was incredible, seasoned so well with the black truffle; I highly recommend starting the meal with this! We also enjoyed the extremely fresh garden to table spring pea salad, so light and fresh. And the halibut cheek was also cooked perfectly; it was contradictorily hearty yet light (I am very particular with seafood, as many places overcook or over season it. Not Edna’s. They do it right!) It is unfortunately the only time I have received one of the most beautiful meals and did not get any photos! We were so immersed in the experience; the atmosphere was romantic and chill, the service was exceptional, and the dessert is not one to miss! We shared the sticky toffee pudding and the herbal blueberry topped cheesecake, both highly recommended. This meal felt like gluttony in its finest, as we ate more than needed but every single bite was thoroughly enjoyed! Chef Nick Mooney and his team are absolutely killing it; if you are in the area, definitely enjoy a...

Edna's is such a gem in Halifax with a warm, inviting and beautiful atmosphere paired with some of the most delicious and creative food and increasible staff.

We had family friends visiting and they went to ednas for brunch and were so blown away they booked dinner.

Tonight we had Bradley serving us who we all were so grateful for as he truly made the entire experience. From his increadible descriptions of the menu that seemed to just bring the choices to life and also his meticulous attention to detail and going above and beyond for service. From the very beginning he quickly checked for dietary needs or allergies and was well knowledges in adaptations that could be made. While often dietary resteictions feel like a burden or a huge issue, he made it feel like an easy and wonderful alternative. Bradley brought such a high level of professional and formal service you often don't see as frequently in Halifax serving industry but with a casual easy to connect with energy that just made everyone smile and feel so deeply cared for.

The food was the best in Halifax with such flavourful options and delicious choices that are also beautifully plated. My friends were constantly saying " oh my god" with every bite even with the appetizers.

Honestly Ednas is hands down the best resteraunt in Halifax and surpassed all expectations and ranked highest of my out of...

I swear I’ve written a review before so let me just summarize: this year I’ve been here for 2 dinner’s and most recently brunch.

Brunch scones: 2 chocolate chip scones (with the small cheap chocolate chips) was crispy on the outside but tasted like a soft cookie on the inside so it felt off to put maple butter and jam on it. 1/5 as a scone 3/5 as a cookie

Salmon Benedict: eggs came poached hard, even though I requested soft. It was Luke warm (probably why eggs were hard) served with very little hollandaise on the thinnest slice of baguette I’ve ever seen (it was cracker thin), it came with two small crispy hash brown type things that were amazing and a salad with a great citrus dressing. My husband had the fish cakes that did arrive hot, were tasty, with more hollandaise than me, and same potato and salad. I was a bit upset with my salmon Benedict but the rest was okay 4/5

I had two other dinners: one was not good (had the zucchini blossom appetizer that was the oiliest thing - literally 1 fried blossom came on a bed of oily seeds/nuts, it was gross) I can’t remember what else I ordered but I was upset 2/5

And the first meal this year was great, I only remember the fried oysters were amazing, everything else was good (their little appetizer special and mains) 5/5

If only my last two visits were as good as the first. Not sure if I’m going to...
