Wow, what a beautiful store in the middle of Halifax. The chocolate is arranged so thoughtfully. It looks like all their chocolate is sourced from fair trade. Also, I think this is minority owned business (Syrian woman if I'm not wrong). Overall, such a spacious, bright and beautiful chocolate store that's worth walking into and admiring. I knocked off a star because the lady behind the counter wasn't the friendliest. I asked if the hot chocolate was thick like melted chocolate and she seemed a little surprised or didn't know how exactly to answer. I explained that I didn't want to have watered down hot chocolate. Then she said they use whole milk and lots of chocolate. She didn't mix it very well also. So what ended up happening was it was milky as opposed to being chocolatey and all the thick chocolate was sitting at the bottom. I wish she gave us a stick to mix it well ourselves. Oh well, but we did find a spoon later and scooped all the chocolate out. Overall, a beautiful store but do mix your own hot chocolate and get a mixing...

Hello,

Last time I came to the store to buy chocolates, there was a very kind employee who helped me choose the types and arrange them beautifully in a box, which I took as a gift for my friend. However, when I went to pay, the owner’s wife behaved in a very inappropriate manner. She did not allow the employee who assisted me to process the payment, seemingly to prevent me from giving her a tip, and to ensure that any tip would go to herself instead.

I even asked the employee who the tips go to, and she told me that the tip goes to the person who processes the payment. This is not fair at all — the person who worked hard to assist me should receive the tip, not someone who did nothing to help me.

I also noticed the disappointment on the employee’s face, which upset me deeply. As a regular customer, I have seen this happen more than once, and I sincerely hope it will not happen again. Such behavior could cause the store to lose both loyal customers and...

It's a remarkably high-class establishment with a large selection of artisanal chocolates and a small selection of high quality desserts. They also work with the Mi'kmaw to produce native inspired chocolates. Coffee chocolates are light on coffee flavor, moderately strong on the white chocolate and caramel flavors. Like a pleasantly sweet cappuccino made of non-burned coffee. In general all of their chocolates are excellent. I also got a white chocolate raspberry mousse dome; a 1cm thick slice of sponge cake coated in white chocolate shavings topped with white chocolate mousse with 2 freeze dried raspberries in the center, rich but not sweet, and tasty. It was all so good, I can't tell you how thrilled I was to find out that they ship their chocolates all around the world (so I can get some even when I'm not on vacation)! I highly recommend you visit Peace by Chocolate whenever...

A touching story about how the Hadhad family started their chocolate factory. Food: 5/5 - delicious chocolates by promoting peace with one chocolate at a time. It would be ideal if they spread their mission throughout Canada. They have a great variety of chocolate combos such as chocolate with Nova Scotian wild blue berries or chocolate with PEI potato chips. A unique way to promote chocolate. Service: 5/5 - cashier was friendly and helpful Atmosphere: 5/5 - a cool vibe to the place that’s inviting with a beautiful decor. There’s even seating inside to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate with a selection of pastries and cookies. If you’re in search of unique and tasty souvenirs especially for chocolate addicts, this is a must visit!

We were visiting from Ontario, passing through town but this was on the short list of must see and do. We saw the movie about the family and what’s become their Canadian legacy and had to come in to experience it ourselves. So creative and so much fun! Wish I could have gotten a lot more but we got a couple of small gift boxes for friends and then a large assorted box of chocolates for ourselves. If we were staying longer we’d come back and try more. We definitely like their chocolate and so definitely recommend! Note that Google maps doesn’t quite have their location exact - it’s just a few steps closer to the cable wharf cows store.
