North End Baking Co. & Café — Restaurant in Halifax

Found this spot in our search for gluten-free & dairy-free options in Halifax. So glad we did! The baked goods were amazing (we arrived right as the muffins came out of the oven and were still warm)! We left with cookies, which I am now devouring as I write this. The fact that this is a social enterprise is the absolute cherry on top, but don't for one second think you are going there as any sort of compromise; you are not, quite simply, some of the best gluten-free baking I have had anywhere. This is the best gluten free bakery in the city. The staff are super sweet and the food is amazing. It is also affordable, which is a huge bonus. They make wonderful cookies boxes and cater too. Pictured is a cookie and 2 muffins which were only $7. I forgot my wallet and the staff let me have the items and told me to pay next time (which I will).

Such a fantastic place! Was looking for Gluten free while visiting Halifax, hoping to find anything anywhere I could eat. I lucked out finding this place! Finally somewhere I can eat anything! The gentleman working the cash was lovely and recommended the lemon cookies. Absolutely fantastic! The lovely lady who packaged our cookies was also super friendly and nice! Absolutely will be back and bring my celiac family members along! And anyone else who wants a yummy snack!

More of these places are needed throughout Canada! Highly recommend!
