Original Joe's — Restaurant in Kamloops

We were at the restaurant this evening on the patio. Our food was good (a bit heavy on the salt), but it took nearly an entire hour to come out and between the time we had our beverages dropped off at the table and when our food came. We were only three people, so it wasn't a huge order. People who were seated around us, after we were seated, all got their meals before ours came out.....we never saw our server. She never checked on us or even came outside for us to ask where our food was. I hailed down somebody else to ask when our food was coming. This is the second time in a row we've experienced such slow, poor, inattentive service at the restaurant. The management needs to address this because it's stopping us from wanting to revisit this location. We don't expect to be ignored by our servers, nor wait an hour for a meal. Our burgers required us to need more napkins but again, nobody was around. Waters need replenishing. I was wanting to get up myself and ask for things. Of course a tip is expected at the end of the meal; but it should not be expected when service is strongly lacking. I did tip however, although I wasn't happy about it and left...

Went to Original Joe’s recently and I have to say, the place was impressively clean and had a welcoming vibe from the moment I walked in. The patio seating was a great touch—spacious, comfortable, and perfect for a nice summer day. I ended up ordering the Whiskey BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger, and everything inside the burger was honestly spot on. The patty was juicy, the condiments were flavorful and balanced, and the bacon added a perfect smoky crunch.

The only thing that held it back a bit for me was the bun—it came out cold, which really stood out because everything else was so on point. If the bun had been warmed up or lightly toasted, I think the whole burger would’ve been taken to the next level. I also ordered the poutine on the side, and that didn’t disappoint at all—crispy fries, rich gravy, and a good amount of cheese curds. Solid portion size too.

Even though the cold bun affected my rating a bit, I still enjoyed the overall experience and would definitely love to give this spot another shot. I’m only in town for a few more days, but I’m hoping to swing by again and try something else off the menu. Would be great to see how they do on a...

Terrible experience. Went there on a Saturday night around 7:45 with 6 friends. As we arrived the dinner rush was leaving. We sat down and ordered our food. During our wait the atmosphere was ruined by the 2 unattended children running through the booths and screaming, disrupting ourselves and other guests. After about an hour of waiting, our server told us our food would be a few minutes. Another 20 minutes later our food came, but the orders were all messed up and most of the food was cold. My one friend ordered fries and was given a burger with 2 salads. When it came time to pay, the server tried to charge her for the burger before changing her mind and comping her meal (fries). As for the rest of us, no dessert service was offered, no attempt to discount or comp any items and we were all charged full price after waiting an hour and 20 minutes for mostly cold food.
