Went for a late lunch here today in Kelowna on Saturday March 30th around 3pm. My boyfriend and I were extremely disappointed with the service. I have eaten here many times but today was worth writing about. I am vegan and I first asked about the vegan chicken sandwich and the brioche bun. I asked if the brioche contained egg or dairy as they typically do. The server responded with “I don’t think so”. Obviously she wasn’t concerned about checking the ingredients to confirm. I decided not to take a chance and ordered the 3 piece vegan chicken finger combo with fries, gravy and a drink. My boyfriend ordered a burger, fries and gravy. The server brought out his burger, fries, my drink and my chicken fingers. We asked about my fries and the gravy. At that moment she realized that my chicken fingers were the non vegan chicken fingers. She left and then came back a couple minutes later asking for those chicken fingers back. Obviously planning on selling them to the next person who might order chicken fingers?? Anyhoo, several minutes later she still had not brought the gravy to the table for my boyfriend’s fries. I went to the counter to ask for them. Nobody in sight for about 3 minutes and our gravy was just sitting there getting cold. Finally a server came out and took my vegan chicken finger and fries out of the deep fryer. As she puts them on the tray I asked for fresh hot gravy since ours has been sitting there getting cold. She actually rolled her eyes and dumped the gravy out back into the gravy pot and filled the cups again. As I went back to the table and started eating two young men came in with resumes and they were told that they weren’t hiring at the moment. Too bad since it seems Meltwich needs better staff. I hope the manager/owner sees this and trains the staff better. There is no need for attitude, sometimes it is just...
Read moreI have been going to this location for over a year. I have always had good things to say about this restaurant. Lastnight I stopped in to get a burger combo and onion rings. My burger was so sloppy I couldn't eat it. There was so much mayonnaise on my burger it was dropping out the side. I didn't order mayo. There were an obsene amount of pickles on it when I specifically asked for only a few. They put every topping on my burger when I have food sensitivities. I was so sick after eating the burger I got I had to take gravol and spend my entire night over the toilet. The onion rings that I paid $5 for were so soggy that I couldn't eat them. When I called the store to get a refund they told me I had to speak to a manager. I have called their corporate office which is listed on Google and was greeted by an individual that does not speak English that told me off. I would avoid this place at all costs. I am extremely sick after ingesting their food and they will not stand behind their product. I went into this location today to pickup my refund. Where the owner yelled at me and called me a liar. Horrible food , horrible customer service and if you are local to Kelowna do not support...
Read moreThis is another case of franchise owners hiring underpaid people who just don’t know what they are serving and aren’t making great food. I came in asking about the happy hour. The single employee working told me there’s no happy hour. I pointed to the video playing behind her, she looked at it and said we don’t do it. Then she said it’s only poutine when the video clearly said “Appies”. I questioned if she knew way appitizers ment and or happy hour? She then had to call the manager and confirmed it was just two items poutine and poppers. I went to the website and it was more than what the manager told me. The food I ordered and packaged in a box that was crushed. Overall I’m just disappointed that there’s a lack of training, lack of knowledge when it comes to the menu and offers. Food franchises in Canada are really failing at delivering an enjoyable dining experience, cold cultural demeanours, lack of assistance and this restaurant kind of embodies charging too much and under delivering.
I got a single chicken finger on bread drowning in mayo as a chicken sandwich. This is what you get when...
