The service here matches the ambiance. Sarah, our bartender for the afternoon, was friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to offer suggestions, enhancing the overall experience. The selection of craft brews was exceptional. My partner opted for the ciders, while I explored the beer offerings—both were outstanding, reflecting the brewery’s dedication to quality and flavor.

Read moreI used to love Red Bird… I’m a native to Vancouver and most of my friends are there. I decided to go to Red Bird for St Patty’s day on my own. It was initially a great vibe, packed with people and a bag pipe band! I sat on the edge of a fire pit table (with lots of room), but when 2 women of the group returned they literally sat down, pushed me off, when there was the other side empty. I was shocked as I’ve never experienced this before, there was tons of room at the fire pit, they literally tried to physically pushed me off, in a packed venue otherwise, yet they were thinking I was a problem to them minding my business watching the bagpipes on the literally edge of the seat. They called security to have me leave and i calmly (with tears i have to admit) explained I was not doing anything, but watching the bagpipes… I couldn’t believe I was asked to leave the fire pit by Red Bird because “people are uncomfortable” when it is a public establishment, busy eve and big table with space available. Seemed so harsh. I was shocked and saddened by this experience. Update- nice for the reply from Red Bird, unfortunately they are not responding to my contacting them “to discuss further “. Maybe it was...
Read moreI wanted to like this place, the location is really convenient, the atmosphere and decor is cool, and the staff was all welcoming and friendly, but quite a few things about it just don't sit right with me. The biggest, and one that really floored me when I found out, was learning that they don't brew their oen beer, instead outsourcing their production to a contract company in Vancouver (Factory brewing I think it was). They have a cool looking brew system behind glass in the tasting room, but I was told it's non-functional by another customer while I was there.
The beer itself, well "their" beer anyways, is honestly mediocre. It's not bad, but not really terribly good either. Their kolsch hardly has any flavour and their IPA could have been a zillion other generic IPAs we've all had before. Makes sense considering they're all outsourced. About on par with the "nice" inexpensive beers you can get, but at a big price premium. Honestly with the 3 other breweries within 5 minutes of waking (Kettle River, BNA, Tree too even, or heck, Boundary Brewing just across town!) I'd suggest...
