Went in because the other day I had a delicious pulled pork sandwich on a brioche style roll (like a burger bun) as it was advertised; a great deal on a lunch option downtown. Ordered the same way I did last time and was given a hard hot dog bun with about half the amount of meat as given on my previous visit, asked to clarify if this is what I ordered and was told "I must have been confused" and that it's called a sandwich but it always comes on a hot dog bun. Feeling disappointed and ripped-off I thanked the girl and took my food to eat in the indoor area. Later she came up and asked if I needed anything else, I said "No, thank you" which prompted her to repeat that I must have been confused and that she called the owner who reiterated that the meal was to be served on a hot dog bun. I was more upset that all of the blame was seeming to be on me, the customer, who requested what I previously ordered and enjoyed but received a disappointing meal and felt to be lacking customer service.
Dining area was clean, food tasted good, but the experience took away from that. Please improve...
Read moreIf you’re in Kelowna and craving some bold, over-the-top comfort food, Smoke’s Poutinerie hits the spot. Their menu is massive — everything from classic poutine to wild combos like Pulled Pork, Bacon Cheeseburger, and even Butter Chicken poutine. I went with the Original Poutine and it did not disappoint: smoky, salty, cheesy, and absolutely loaded.
The portion sizes are generous, and even a regular can fill you up. The fries are thick-cut and crisp (most of the time), smothered in rich gravy and cheese curds that actually melt — a must for real poutine fans.
Staff were friendly and fast. It’s more of a grab-and-go or late-night spot than a sit-down experience, but the vibe is fun and casual. Great for after a night out or a serious cheat meal.
Only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is consistency — I've had amazing poutine here, but once or twice the fries were a bit soggy or the toppings weren’t evenly spread. Still, when they get it right (which is most of the time), it's delicious.
Definitely worth a stop if you're in downtown Kelowna and want to try poutine with...
Read moreI purchased the large butter chicken poutine, it was around $20 plus tip. The service was very good. I was expecting chicken in my butter chicken poutine for some reason, but there was none. The sauce was very salty and didn’t remind me of butter chicken sauce at all. I had mentioned that I loved butter chicken, and this was not anywhere close. Luckily below that layer of butter chicken sauce was regular poutine so I had some lunch to eat. Sharing did not go over well as it was Not up to snuff for my husband. He had nothing but a couple of bites. I brought this to the attention of the young man that took my order and he understood my concerns. On my way out, he gave me a gift card for poutine which I will try on another date. Maybe I’ll get one with meat that cost the same! The young man did the right thing by giving me a gift card because that will give them another chance at a...
