micro bar & bites — Restaurant in Kelowna

My wife and I came for a date night and what an awesome choice.

Quaint small bar atmosphere with only a couple booths otherwise you snuggle up and make friends at the bar.

We had some incredible cocktails (Isla View, Reporting Live from NYC, Silent Like the "P" in Swimming)

The tapas were excellent, had the Smoked Salmon Spread and Sundried Tomato Tapenade with the Parmesan Herb Loaf and the Grilled Pita. Try mixing these two dips if you like tomato and salmon, I found it awesome.

Then had the Grilled Octopus which may have been small on quantity but was PACKED with flavour, definitely recommend. We finished with the Deep Fried Burrata Cheese which was amaaaaaazingly good.

Food was only okay but a bit overpriced. The thing that annoyed me and caused the 2 star review was we ordered 6 oysters, they were smallish which was fine but one of them should not have been served. We watched as they were shucked and saw the shucker cut almost half of the oyster by accident and toss it rather than eating the cost and just getting a new one. So one of the oysters was a half oyster. The gnocchi was again just okay I thought and my partner disliked it. I found the acidity of the eggplant dish to be far too high and neither of us enjoyed the small broken mound of crackers that were unusable to scoop the dish onto. The environment and atmosphere were decent. I liked the look of the place and they had a few decent drinks available but the food quality left a lot...

I actually didn't have a great experience here. I was here a while back waiting for a friend to finish an appointment and there was a young girl and young guy working. I waited so long to get greeted and seen others that came in after me get served first that I had to stop one of them and ask for a drink. I finally got a beer and never got checked on after so I left after one beer. It was less than $10 but I gave the guy 6 Toonies because I had so much change and he made a ridiculously rude comment. I'm sorry but considering I got terrible service and still gave a good tip I don't think he should have been that concerned of how I paid. Money is money. Maybe that's just the Okanagan attitude from what I hear but it's certainly...
