Ordered off of Just Eat, took an hour ten for the food to arrive (40-60 mins was the time we were given). Not a big deal, I suppose lived a good ten minutes from the restaurant and delivery was free after $15, so I was happy about that.
However, food arrived was not what we ordered, and most of it was just really bad... and I love cheap Chinese eats so this was so disappointing. Ordered two combination plates - both had a spring roll, and then plain fried rice, chow mein, jar dow(?) wings - and the other was vegetable rice and general tso's chicken.
Wings came with 3 pieces, there was no chow mein (but they provided a bunch of bean sprouts), and the rice was not plain (it was definitely brown and drenched in soy sauce, typical vegetable fried rice (which I wasn't mad about but it wasn't as described). Disappointed because I really wanted the chow mein though. Rice was fine, but not great. Everything super oily, wings were hard and super dry, very inedible. The general tso's chicken was okay, but also dry. The spring rolls were inedible; took one bite and could not eat it. Pretty disgusting vegetable filling.
Also ordered a plate of shrimp curry. The shrimp was fairly plentiful, but the sauce was just yellow water... no viscosity to it at all and serving size small. Didn't taste terrible, but I definitely expected more.
Overall, this place was cheap and delivery fast. This is on the low ends of drunk food - i.e. it probably still will kinda suck, but you'll be okay with it. Choose...
Read moreI ordered delivery from here after passing by the restaurant for 28 years. I've seen this spot opened for a very long time but never tried it out because to be honest it looks run down from the outside and I had thought they served Manchu wok level food, WHICH THEY DON'T. However, the food for the price range is amazing. I always go for a good beef fried noodle with soya sauce and yeung chow fried rice with other assorted protein dishes. I was surprised about the price because it is cheaper than most other Chinese restaurants today but the food tasted a little lower than getting dishes from Congee Queen but better than Manchu wok or a food court Chinese place, it was also so hot even after delivery that I almost burned my tongue. It isn't authentic Chinese but being from a family of early Asian immigrants, Western style Chinese was what we craved and could only get at the time. This really brought that back, hopefully this restaurant stays opened for a long time!
Update: gave them a 3 star from 5 star, ordered again another time and the food taste and quality was below what I usually get, not sure if the chef changed but everything tasted watered down and not cooked on high heat or what they call Wok hei was not present in the...
Read moreGeneral Tso's is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the city. Period. Look, this isn't authentic, you come here for Americanized Chinese food, and they deliver everytime.
First, the owners are such genuinely nice people. Never rushed. Always sweet and polite. Even the delivery guy is a sweetheart. That's rare to find these days. The portions are large, and the prices are good. But more importantly, they're consistent. The same everytime. I have ordered from here probably over 60 times and they have never made a single mistake. It's remarkable.
My favorite dishes are: The spicy wings, PanFried thick noodle with Beef (Ho Fun) Cantonese chow mein and honey garlic spare ribs.
When I want authentic Chinese food, I'll go for Xiao Long Bao, Char Siu or Dim Sum in Markham. When I'm starving and I want my Sweet&Sour Chicken itch scratched, General Tso's delivers each and every time. An asset to the...
