Villa Madina — Restaurant in Mississauga

Worst service ever! Ordered a chicken souvlaki dinner plate. Asked for more salad instead of rice for dietary reasons. Instead of agreeing to it, as nearly all middle eastern restaurants substitute rice with salad, the girl serving hesitated. Then the lady (middle aged wearing a hijjab) working behind her rudely jumps in, snatches the container out of the server's hands, disregards my request and starts scooping up potatoes into my container instead of the salad I asked for. Potatoes have high carbs, as does rice. For a person with diabetes, this completely contradicts the purpose of asking for salad. I tried to explain this, but she deliberately chose to ignore my request. She left half the rice and filled the other half with potatoes, completely ignoring my request. I don't know how much further I had to beg and plea for my case, but the girl server noticed I was unhappy. She asked me if I wanted more salad, so obviously my answer was yes. She added a scoop more. To add vegetable slices which they do at every other villa madina (in fact they ask you which vegetables you like), she added one tiny slice of tomatoe and said, "we normally charge for this but you get it free." How silly!!!! The lady behind gave the dirtiest look staring down my container of food. Chances are, too lazy to prepare ingredients for salad once containers run low. FOOD FLAVOURS WERE ALL OFF AND GROSS. THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO COOK. LOOK AT ALL THE SO MANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS HERE!!!! Going to be referring this to head office.

Listen. If you want to spend your money here, you may as well burn it and use the flakes to bread up a mud ball and chew on that. It's basically the same. You might even get a better serving for the amount you spend, actually.

For one, I felt as if I owed the staff money with how I was treated. I stood at the counter for a good 5 minutes before being directed to the other end of the counter (where there's no clear indication I should be standing there). When I asked for the student deals, I was told they were done, which I figure the poster should've been taken done, but what do I know? But enough about the abysmal customer service. Let's talk about the "food."

You figure they were trying to drown the bread with how much sauce they slather on it. The vegetables all taste of onion very, very vaguely. It was mildly concerning, but eh. Aside from that, the beef tasted like... nothing. The texture was there but you couldn't really taste it at all. It was mildly concerning because it felt like mystery meat. I felt like throwing up afterwards.

Oh and the portion sizes are terrible. $12 for a sandwich like this is wild when you could pop over into the Subway next door and get your actual money's worth.

I ordered a BOGO special through a Skip The Dishes email notification. Two orders for the price of one. As there are three of us here I also ordered a third single dish. Skip showed up with the BOGO part of the order but was missing the third item. Skip suggested I contact the restaurant. I called in to the same location and a woman apologized, took my details and said she would send it to my home. An hour later when nothing showed up I called again. The same voice answered but I was disconnected. I called again and the same voice answered again but immediately hung up. I called 2 more times and they kept hanging up on me. Now I continue to call and they won’t answer anymore. And I’m letting it ring and ring. At one point they left their phone off the hook. What kind of establishment operates like this. To tell me a replacement is on the way and then not send it. And then all these games with the phone calls?? I never like to wish bad things on people but I do feel this woman should loose her job. This whole experience was outrageous. At least Skip The Dishes did credit me the item. Truly horrible customer service from Villa Madina....
