East Side Mario's — Restaurant in Mississauga

Tonight we had a table of 10 reservation at 1815 for my moms birthday . We made reservations last night. When arriving we were sat very quickly. Once sat we were there for 15 min when the server came over and apologized while rubbing my brothers shoulder apologizing for the wait she was just cashing out her other tables, another 15 min pass and she comes apologizing again while rubbing my brothers after he asked her not to. 45 min later after being sat she comes and takes our drink orders and food after apologizing again blaming other customers for using gift cards and having no help. After she takes our orders she brings us our drinks and hands my mom who is diabetic a drink and said who’s the 1 who ordered diet. I said there was 4 diet cokes and 1 regular and proceeded to ask us to test it cause she thought she put the 2 straws in the diet but it was the regular. Luckily one of us tried it before my mom took a drink. We then get our drinks she forgot 1 and then questions on another drink without having all info when we ordered. We then have all our drinks and wait for food. I go to inform the waitress that it’s my moms birthday and she proceeds to say “oh there’s only 1 bill I will deal with that later it doesn’t matter”, which wasn’t the way to say. 7 meals came out and then the waitress then comes and ask the 3 people who didn’t get their food what they ordered again and said let me go check my receipt. She came back with more bread and I asked how long of a wait for food and she said she forgot to put their orders in as it was on the back of the paper and forgot to look as one of them was my moms who was who we took out for her birthday. After this we called the manager over as we have had enough and the manager was very understanding and got the 3 meals rushed and was out in 10 min. After this the manager continued to serve us getting my mom and the rest of the table their deserts and got us our bill. The manager was very nice and accommodating and made accommodation to the bill and assisted with the grief we were going through. If it wasn’t for the managers quick acting and service I wouldn’t recommend this again but I suggest if they know in advance that they have a party and the server can’t handle that get them help or a different...

05/17/2025-I have been coming to this location in heartland off and on now for 10 years, generally service here is acceptable never below par, but for the first time today we walked out after being seated for nearly 15 minutes and was given no water or bread and not even so much as a greeting by our waitress in the area or a hello. We were a party of three seated in the bar section which I’m not sure why to begin with since I did see plenty of seats in the dining area but that wasn’t a big issue for us. The girl working at the bar seemed to be the only one working this area so we assumed she was busy and just waited thinking she was just making her rounds. What threw us off was she stopped by our table and put the plates there then walked away no greeting no hello no asking if we wanted garlic bread or any water just dropped the plates and awkwardly walked away tending to the table right beside us the table right behind my wife and also to the table at the very right end corner of the room. What finally did it for us though was when two gentlemen that just arrived sat themselves at the bar and she tended to them before us and we were there well before they were, at that point we realized everyone was being helped except for us so we figured our business was not needed there and instead decided to go to Milestones. I called the restaurant when we left and informed them of this, will this change anything probably not. In the end everything worked out we next door to milestones instead which was pricier but we got served right away the host was gracious and the food was delicious well worth the money spent.

The waitress seemed young probably a kid I didn’t want to confront her or make a scene but in any service oriented industry especially in the restaurant business service can make or break you, in this particular situation she wasn’t really friendly to us and it portrays negatively for this restaurant. No matter how busy you are customary water and bread is never to much, or in this case a simple greeting and an introduction of yourself which is standard for all the years I’ve frequented East Side Mario’s. Probably will not come...

I dont understand the rating of 3.7 reviews for this Restaurant with the value, quality of the food and service it offers. I have to give You the credit you well deserve, the whole meal concept is great, and soooo reasonably priced, with large and tasty freshly cooked main courses, and all you can eat delicious hot off the oven bread and fresh salads are just the cherry on top. A couple weeks ago, 3 of us went to this East Side Mario's for a late dinner ... we hadn't been in a very long time as we travel quite a bit... I had a real craving for Mario's Garden Salad with their very own delicious dressing. We went in quite late, (after a hospital visit). We were served by a young lady, (we believe her name is Jayden) She was so welcoming - never rushed us even though it was way past 7pm, she was "quick on the ball" and very efficient and super personable...We had a very enjoyable dinner, all 3 meals were delicious, we also had multiple helpings of freshly baked bread with butter, and we had repeats on the Ceasar salad and the Garden salad. The "all you can eat" salads are soooo plentiful and delicious that we were almost full before the main course arrived, not surprising, we had plenty of left overs to enjoy the next day. If I could give you a higher rating I would Y'all deserve it - JUST WONDERFUL OVERALL. Message to mngnt - Dont lose this young lady, she is terrific. Issy

Comnents on another vist: My sister & I went again March 7th, and this time we were served by Debra D., another amazing server, very efficient, friendly, and accomodating. The food was terrific, my sister order the Chicken Tetrazzini again and she loved it. I ordered my own pasta dish with chicken, linguini and asked for the spicy rose sauce, and it was downright delicious. If You ask for your herb/spice preferences - They will accommodate your palate. We Ordered a 2nd garden salad, and hot baked bread and it returned quick with a lovely smile. Amazing lady.

They are doing a great job selecting very efficient, effective and super personable staff... it was a Wonderful experience for us. Well priced and delicious food. We will return...
