Some employees are nice, some are just there to do there job which is fine. Food is mediocre, the bagel did not taste like a bagel. In addition, the nachos felt process and cheap for what I paid for. Although the cream cheese is non-dairy, it almost tastes like nothing. I've been here a couple times, the coffee drinks have been mediocre at best. The iced shaken espresso feels cheap, and grainy due to the amount of cinnamon added. Coffee is a lot of the time sour.
One of the worst things is that there are nearly no seats with chargers and a table to write notes on other than at the long tables. Most of the time the (manager/owner/employee?) are working on those tables for hours, making it unavailable for customers. With this in mind I sense a lack of care in service, in which I do receive in common cafes in the city. In addition, I never know when to come since they have events ever so often (at least twice a week). The schedulings are inconsistent, and I would never find a place to sit. I want to be able to pop in on times convenient for me.
It is nice to sit it, lots of plants, and some board games available to use.
I stopped coming here mainly due to the fact that there were never seats available, and it is in an inconvenient place, in which no parking is available. They would ask customers to park at Walmart.
Overall: If you're hanging out with a friend it's a decent cafe, but if you're going here as a usual spot to do work, it is definitely not worth the mile. There are probably better cafes to hangout at, but if you haven't been here...
Read moreStaff really needs better education and training! I have been in on two separate occasions to ask which baked goods are gluten free and the staff didn't have a clue which items were gluten-free either time. The most recent incident was on November 12 when I came in and asked which baked goods were gluten free and the server said all of them and asked if I would like to try a sample piece of banana bread so I said yes please. After having a piece and asking if I could purchase a slice the server decided to double check the banana bread packaging which was in the freezer to see if it was gluten-free and it was not! She told me this AFTER I had already eaten it. I don't eat gluten-free to be 'trendy' I have celiac disease which a condition where I must eat gluten-free foods for life so this is a huge mistake on the part of the server feeding me something that has basically poisoned my insides. I feel the management should do a far better job explaining to their staff the difference between gluten free and organic (NOT the same thing) and even the difference between gluten sensitivity and celiac disease. Really disappointed and will not...
Read moreI did not enjoy the latte or the mocha, too bitter and weird tasting, in my opinion. I guess real milk would have made the drinks a bit better.
For the service, it was delayed. The staff told me to wait 10 minutes after i approached the counter, having already waited a while. There was a drink ready there, which I assumed was mine. After 5 minutes or so, the staff called out to hand both of my drinks. They could have handed the first drink as it was ready so I could enjoy it before the ice melted. Some persons who ordered after me were also handed their drinks before my drinks were ready. Some of my friends were also told to wait 10 minutes for their drinks that they ordered later. For counter service, this 10 minutes delay does not make sense. Deliver to the table if you have this long delay so customers are not awkwardly having to hang around the counter.
Loved the ambiance. Great place to have a conversation. I do not see myself going there again to get a drink.
There's retail parking in the basement but the spots are limited. Available spots were limited to 15 minutes parking only. I ended up having to pay for...
