⭐ 1 Star I visited Swiss Chalet today to celebrate my son’s birthday, and unfortunately, I left feeling extremely disappointed and disrespected.
The staff member who served us—an older lady—was very rude and unwelcoming from the beginning. Instead of helping us with the menu, she kept pressuring us to choose more expensive items and discouraged us from ordering the "2 Can Dine for $20" deal, which my husband had selected for our son and his friends. She even commented that the portions were too small, which felt inappropriate and pushy.
I didn’t order anything for myself because I already felt uncomfortable, but even after politely declining, she continued to ask me several more times, making me feel embarrassed. I had my 2-year-old baby with me and requested a high chair, and she told me, “Oh no, he’s too big,” and only gave us the seat part, which wasn’t safe or helpful.
I had brought a cake to surprise my son after our meal. Before we even finished eating, she kept checking in and rushing us to finish. When I politely asked for five more minutes before bringing out the cake, she continued to pressure us.
After we finished eating, I went to the counter and kindly asked her to bring the cake and clean the table first. She loudly responded, “No, I clean only once—it’ll get dirty again,” which was shocking to hear. She said it in front of everyone, and I felt very embarrassed. My husband and I were both stunned.
She brought the cake to the table without opening the box, didn’t light the candles, and asked me where to put them. By that point, I was too upset to go ahead with the cake cutting. I told her we wouldn’t be cutting the cake there and that we would take it home. She seemed more concerned about having brought cake plates than about the fact that she had ruined our celebration.
When we first arrived, we asked for some extra time to look at the menu, but she kept coming back again and again, saying she was “worried it might get busy.” It was 2:30 p.m. on a Tuesday, and the restaurant was nearly empty—maybe 4 or 5 tables were occupied out of about 20.
This whole experience ruined a special day for my family. We left feeling disappointed and hurt. I don’t usually write reviews, but I hope the management takes this seriously and makes improvements. No customer—especially celebrating a child’s birthday—should be...

Tried all 3 flavors. Kris was our server and she gets great reviews. I don't know why? The coleslaw was forgotten which was in the menu. Water took a long time to arrive. 3rd batch of ribs was brought by a guy then another by Kris who looked dumbfounded how they got there saying just keep em. She was personnel with customers she doesn't know and it rubs people the wrong way. Talking to kids who don't need to interact with her and then arguing to the parents about it. Then has the nerve to turn to her "regular" customer and complain about the family for them not wanting to chat with her. Leaning on the table to take your order was unprofessional. Mocking customers about their attire was uncalled for to say "those are funny shoes". Paying with a gift card and commenting "Wow, $200 is a nice gift" touching the guy on the shoulder while saying it. Then treating the customer who is ignorant about how the CAA card works saying you haven't been here in a long time? Didn't this place open in March? If I knew her I wouldn't mind but I don't. Emily and the older woman who used to be at the Financial Rd location were always professional and I "knew" them since they started there. I'm sure others don't mind but read the room and keep it professional. Nobody wants the comments coming out of your mouth within earshot of other customers.....and YES it rubs me...
Read moreLooks like the hostess is the waitress (Navneet) because it took about 3-4 minutes before she greeted us. We ordered 1/4 chicken dinners. Chicken was good but the fries were a mix of fresh and reheated. When we asked for a plate for the bones the plate was kind of dropped on the table loudly. I said thank you and no reply. When I asked for water it was the same results as the plate. Does this waitress have trouble with her depth of vision? Again no reply from my thank you. Have young people lost manners or did they never have? When it was time to pay I gave my CAA card for my BOGO. She returned with the machine and as I was looking for my gift card she said I'll leave this to you and walk away. I had to figure out how to use the machine and swipe my card. I never saw where I can enter my scene card and Navneet was nowhere to be seen. I am assuming there is no bowl of warm water or wet wipes for cleaning hands because nothing was offered. Either this girl doesn't like her job or she is related to the boss or both. Terrible service and not the first time from her. Last time was over 6 months ago. Get her trained properly or treat everyone the same, because I don't understand how some people think she is great. Unless she is...
