I'm very disappointed. I had heard great things about this bakery, and was happy to discover that my new apartment is so close to it. I decided to check it out after work. I was pleased to discover that they closed late (9pm on thursdays, which is when I visited, according to their website) I showed up at 8pm, and was greeted by a very frustrated employee who told me that they were already closed. All the the desserts were still out on display however, and I asked if I could just quickly take a look. The employee then proceeded to tell me in a very rude tone that if I already knew exactly what I wanted she could give it to me. Like I said, this was my first time at the shop, and I obviously wanted some time to peruse. Read moreI ordered a vegetarian Jamaican patty, but you handed me a chicken one. I flagged that it wasn't a veggie patty, and you insisted that it was. I trusted you and took two bites—only to realize it was chicken.
When I tried to exchange it, you replied that I had already eaten half of it. You did end up giving me a new vegetarian one, but with a lot of attitude, as if I was the one who made the mistake. You even asked how I could tell the difference, saying they all look the same.
I opened the new one and showed you—it was clearly filled with vegetables, while the chicken one looked completely grey inside.
Come on, do better and respect your customers, is it so complicated?? I'm so over it, I'm starting to believe that these people do it on purpose. You can't be...
Read moreYou know you’ve build your taste buds up for something delicious and it winds up being a disappointment? Well, that pretty much describes my experience at Boulangerie Samos. Firstly, the donuts are huge, which itself is not an issue with a good neutral oil. But when one fries donuts the size Samos serves in a cheap flavoured oil, they taste of oil which lingers long after you’ve finished. Secondly, the beef empanada which taste more like spaghetti Bolognese wrapped in pastry shell. It carries none of the flavours one expects of chili, cumin or paprika… but at least you taste an abundance of tomato.
Here is the thing, the customer service is top notch, but the food is an issue easily rectified. Until then, I would not recommend...
