I had a mixed experience in this restaurant and actually thought that I will not write this review. Because of the several negative comments concerning the bad service I thought that I would like to share my story.
We were happy to enter the cafe. The staff seemed to be friendly and both gave us a table quickly and took up our order quite quickly as well. The interior of the cafe made us feel comfortable and relaxed.
While we were eating the food (most of it was quite good, except of the mirza ghasemi, which tasted odd because they probably barbecued the eggplant) we heard that one of the waiters was speaking about us.
She was commenting on how much we were eating and if we really want to eat even more or if we are going to explode soon. Then she started laughing and continued to comment on us and laughed again. Maybe she forgot that we also speak Persian and could understand what she was saying to her friend?
My wife then got upset and after we payed the bill she decided to confront her. The waiter acted as if she didn’t know what we meant, but it didn’t seem credible to be honest. We apologised and left.
The owner of the restaurant listened to the whole thing and then followed us on the street and asked what was wrong. He listened and apologised and didn’t seem surprised about his wife‘s behaviour. He seemed to be an extremely nice and honourable person to be fair.
What I also found quite unprofessional was that many people were waiting to be seated or to place an order while she was sitting besides some guests and making plans about her weekend. Some people came and ordered at the counter then.
I don’t know if I recommend going. They have vegetarian and vegan options which are rare to find in Persian restaurants. But if you go out to have a nice time you don’t want something like that to happen. Decide for yourself what you think is tolerable to you.
I would probably give this cafe another chance because the owner seems to be a kind and honest person. I am somehow also leaving this comment so that these kind of things do not happen again because I wish these guys all the best for creating such a place...

Read moreI have never had Persian food before and I'm also picky, so take my review with a grain of salt. I did like the food, it was amazing portions, very fresh and tasted good. I ordered a soup (Ash Reshteh) which wasn't my favorite. I think it was the dill. I also had do piazeh (the potatoes). Those were pretty good. Kind of reminded me in texture of potato salad, but a different taste. I also had gheimeh nesar (saffron rice with beef). This was my favorite of all the dishes. It has a really unique flavor with the chopped berries, pistachios, spices and everything. And the last dish I had was gham-bar polo shirazi which is like meatballs and rice with nuts and a lot of raisins. It's good but very sweet. I didn't expect that. It was my second favorite. It also came with a good portion of fluffy bread which i think was supposed to go with the soup. It also came with (i think) sour cream for the main dishes and a cup of cherry tomatoes, olives and pickles. I don't like sour cream or anything pickled so i can't speak for that, but my husband liked it. All in all, i think it you like Persian food you'd like it a lot. I liked it ok. I did agree with the person who said it's better with salt.
Edit: I had some of the leftovers the next day and I liked it even more. It's hard to describe because the flavor combinations are so new to me. I will definitely order it again. It's a very satisfying and yummy meal.
P.s. I went back and I ordered a similar rice dish to Gheimeh Nesar called Morasa polo. It's got chicken instead of beef. I LOVED it! I wish ordered more Do piazeh. Everything was just as good and I actually tried the white sauce that I thought was sour cream. It's not sour cream. LOL I don't know what it's called but it's very creamy and mild, not sour or tangy or garlicky. It was really nice and unique. Highly...
