We heard about Ganadara through Instragram, because those reels made the food look good! One thing to note is that the reels also make the place look like a social hotspot (think crowded, long lineups, trendy date night), when it's really more of a quick-service lunch (with a great atmosphere nonetheless) and Uber Eats spot. I came with my wife for a lunch date so this was perfect for us: great vibe but low-key.
For appetizers we shared 2 dishes: Dak balls which remind me of general Tao chicken drizzled (not soaked) with a sweet and tangy sauce and sesame seeds. The chicken-to-batter ratio was high and it was fresh and crispy. Portion was a full plate (about 12 pieces or so) for $9.00. Bulgogi Mandu was 3 beef dumplings which were incredible. For $5.50 we thought about ordering more, but decided against it as our mains were on the way.
For the main course we gravitated to the Bulgogi Udon and both ordered this dish (which goes against our usual practice of sharing different meals!). At first sight the portion was huge, and we were both worried about all the udon in front of us, but the noodles tasted super fresh and the sauce was just right (not sweet the way I thought it would be) with just enough of that amazing beef. We each quickly finished our plates with no regrets!
Overall this place was a winner for us. It's an easy recommendation for a decadent lunch or a...
Read moreI ordered the bulgogi bap and my friend ordered the spicy chicken one, as well as the chicken side dish. The eggs on both dishes were extremely cold, the rice was soggy, the kimchi was very sour, and the cabbage still had a bit of dirt on it? The whole dish (both bap dishes) were very soggy at the bottom which unfortunately got rid of any flavour. I wouldn’t recommend this place. The place was clean at least. The service wasn’t great.. The two staff members were chatting very loud and didn’t greet us. They kept making jokes with each other and even if there was nobody but us in the restaurant at the time, it took a while for one to finish their conversation and let us order at the front desk (even when they had seen us and not said anything). Also got our...
Read moreThe chicken in the chicken ramen is not grilled like it says in the menu, it's boiled and cut into big pieces that you struggle to cut into smaller pieces on your ramen bowl and they just don't taste good. Ganadara before COVID used to make such delicious grilled chicken cut in small pieces in their ramen. This restaurant needs to change this and bring back the old ways and follow the menu description. Other than this most of the time this restaurant serves very delicious food (sometimes...
