I was in Saturday October 8th at approximately 8:15am. I have gone to Hinnawi Bros nearly every day for the past 4 years. Today was a particularly busy day, presentation at 10am (one hour of prep before that) and a full day of university meetings. I know Hinnawi is fast and reliable so instead of bringing breakfast from home before such a busy day, I thought I’d stop by my favorite breakfast place. When I got in only half the display was set up, music was blasting, and although there were two people working there was no one to take my order. After a few minutes someone yelled « coming » from across the room while quickly turning down the blasting music. They started cooking my breakfast order but went back to mess with the music while I tried to pay. My card didn’t go through as there was a dial error. I tried to get someone’s attention, because by this point I was really in a rush. Finally someone came by, there was a big line at this point. It seemed my breakfast sandwich was almost done. She set the machine up again and I tried again. She went back and I had to wave her down again to let her know there is a dial error. This happened 3 more times. She then asked if I had cash and I said no and she said « ok next in line » ….no, « I’m sorry for the inconvenience » or anything. Seeing as I’m there nearly every day, it probably wouldn’t have been too much trouble to give me the sandwich they had just cooked. What are they going to do with it anyways? I also would have been more than happy to come back the next day and pay once they sort their machine out. After 4 years of this being my favorite breakfast spot with my partner, I don’t think I’ll be going back any time soon or at all. There’s absolutely no concern for the customer, you may as well just go to Starbucks. The lack of professionalism was really disappointing. (Also no one likes blasting music before 10am, please...
Read moreBagels were delicious. Would come back here for that but definitely won’t because the service is terrible. One of the worst experiences. Cashier was very out of it and didn’t speak much. They called out our order (I ordered a toronto and my friend did as well) we both took our orders and noticed it didn’t have avocado in it which its suppose to. When we told them our bagels didn’t have avocados she stared at us blankly, we then asked if we can get it added. She asked what we ordered and we said toronto, she then asked if we ordered the sherbrooke (which I had ordered for my boyfriend) so I said yes. She then got angry and took our bagels away, she came back to tell us to get our bagels when she calls out toronto (for my friend) and sherbrooke (for me). My friend got her bagel first, and then they called out another toronto which no one else in the restaurant answered to. Finally they called out sherbrooke and I went to get my two bagels. There was only one on the counter so I asked if there was my toronto bagel, she gave me attitude and asked “you ordered the toronto? The one I’ve been calling out?” And I told her she had told me to wait until she said sherbrooke. She then asked me if anyone else was missing their bagel? And I just said that I was missing my toronto bagel. And she quickly handed it off to me. I don’t understand why she couldn’t have just added avocados to our bagels as we didn’t see anyone else going up for them so it wasn’t anyone else’s order. She got angry at us for doing what she told us to do. The cashier asks for our names so I thought it was to call for our orders when it was ready but they only used the name of the bagels which could be for anyone if we didn’t know. Worst service ever! Won’t be back just because of their behaviour...
Read moreNo issues with the food but issues with the staff 2 out of 3 times ive been there. First time i asked for a regular cup for water or put it in a mug not a jug and just that simple request was marked with total annoyance by the woman at the counter. She ignored me and and i had to ask again. Last time i went i asked if the small coffee was for me cause i ordered it with a mumbai. When i asked her she told me i would have to ask the cashier. Then a few minutes later she called out a few orders.... sherbrooke...... munbai with spicy mayo which i didnt order but took cause i thought maybe it was standard. Then i sat down to start eating and she called out the mumbai then i realized i must have taken the spicy but no i had the sherbrooke. I def did not take the sherbrooke when it was called out. Maybe a new system name and name of order and be a bit more approachable so that i can ask if its my order without feeling like im a nuisance.the counter is also sooo high i cant see the food which adds to...
