Unfortunately had the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant here. They were rude, racist, and extremely unfriendly, specifically the younger man at the counter. We split our bill 4 ways, and my friend who went to pay first accidentally clicked the OK button on the pay pad too quickly as she believed the tip screen would show up (as that’s how it works in Alberta where we’re visiting from), however the tip screen was missed on accident. The man then told her that she had to be refunded and she would have to pay again as she needed to tip. I’d like to mention he said this very aggressively, and it is against the law and extremely inappropriate to force a tip on a customer, not to mention our intention was to already tip anyways before he started attacking us. Our intention was to tip, but knowing that it’s mandatory by this business makes me not want to go, as I have never seen this kind of behaviour before, and I can guarantee they don’t give their tips to their waitress but keep it for themselves. When we asked him why the tip was mandatory, he proceeded to say that “in Canada we tip after a meal otherwise it’s like a slap in the face” . This was said in a deliberately racist tone because we are visibly non Caucasian and he assumed that we came from overseas when we are all born and raised Canadians, and are regularly tipping customers when we go out to eat, but have never been forced to. He gave us all extremely disgusting looks, and almost had a threatening tone about the tips. He made our friend refund her money and said she MUST tip, even though I was planning on giving a big tip at the end (the fourth transaction) since we split it four ways. He attacked us before he even knew who was tipping or that we wanted to leave the total 15% tip at the end. We honestly still tipped after this (even though we shouldn’t have) because we were so shocked and scared of him as he was shaking and was so upset. Also, nobody came to check on our table and we had to walk up to the counter multiple times to ask for service, so not sure why they’re so expectant of tips anyways. I’ve never seen such entitlement in Canada, and this is so inappropriate anywhere else. Please do not go here, there are so many other sushi places that will treat you...
Read moreThis is what you will get here! We ordered food, no special service and she was very aggressive to respond our request! Then I paid 15% tips and she got angry saying that I brought plates and you asked questions why you didn’t pay enough tip!!! My question though? Is Tip optional!? Should I pay Tip when I get an extra service? If not please include it with my bill and don’t ask me to choose the amount or percentage! Plus, you as a business owner are not paying your employees very well and asking me to pay their wages!!! I already paid for my food, service, and taxes!!! There was no complementary Tea! No dishes for shar! And even they were not even nice to answer our questions! Worst thing was when they came after us and yelled at us saying Get Out! Don’t come back!!!! Still trying to digest this!
As a side note: Instead of threatening me, learn how to serve your Customers! You are lucky that I haven’t posted the part of video that you and your husband started shouting at us saying GET OUT!!!! Never seen...

I asked for plate even! I read other reviews when people avoided paying Tip and what they experienced! They force You to pay TIP!!! Hey! Please learn that even though in North America, we used to pay Tip even for takeout, there’s no FORCED to pay TIP!!! You are business owners and because of the unfair wages you are paying your employees, we’re not supposed to cover for you! We’re working as hard as you and no one is paying TIPS to us!!! You’re RUDE, IMPOLITE, and extremely unprofessional!!! “Now, after reading your response, I feel so bad for those who are gonna have food at your place!” You definitely don’t know how to run a business and...
