3 Amigos in Old Montreal delivers a lively and vibrant atmosphere, making it a great spot for a fun night out. The decor is colorful and energetic, perfect for enjoying a casual dinner with friends. The service is friendly, though it can be a bit slow when the restaurant is busy, which can impact the overall experience.

We began with complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and crunchy, but the salsa lacked flavor and could have benefited from more seasoning and spice to elevate the dish.
For drinks, I had the Mambo Mojito ($11.95), which was refreshing and perfectly balanced, with a great mix of pomegranate, mango, and mint. My friend went with the Don Julio Margarita ($15.95), which was strong and smooth—ideal for those who enjoy a potent margarita with a bit of bite.
For the main course, we ordered the Smash Burger (double beef patty, lettuce, red onions, tomatoes, cheese, Ancho Chile aioli, served with fries). While decent, the burger didn’t wow us. It could have used more sauce or some jalapeños for extra flavor. We also tried the Shrimp and Steak Fajitas, which, unfortunately, were not as flavorful as expected. To make matters worse, the waiter forgot to bring the tortillas, so by the time they arrived, the fajitas had cooled down. Although the waiter apologized multiple times for the oversight, the issue was compounded when dessert was offered as compensation, but we were still charged for the churros.
We ordered Churros with Nutella for dessert ($6.96), which were tasty but didn’t stand out as anything extraordinary. They were a nice touch, but the experience left us feeling that the overall meal could have been more consistent.
Overall, 3 Amigos offers a lively, fun experience with excellent drinks and a few solid dishes, but it falls short in food consistency and service. The mistakes with the fajitas and the unaddressed issue of the dessert charge left something to be desired. It’s a good spot for a casual meal, but there’s definitely room for improvement in both food quality and...
Read moreAt the outset, while I have been to multiple 3 Amigos around MTL , I had a horrendous experience at this particular one.
Rude & Inappropriate Behaviour- We requested for a table for 4 and the restaurant had nearly 70% Empty Tables , yet the “Manager” didn’t allow us to get in.
When I pressurised a little bit , he realised- Oh Maybe I can accommodate you.
Question is . 7 PM on a Sunday, you have 4 people who’d like to dine & you are refusing Business? Are you sure you know how the restaurant industry works ?
Ridiculously less complimentary Nachos. - 3 Amigos, has this concept of giving you a bowl of free Nachos and some salsa while you wait for your food. The table with one had a bigger bowl than a table with 4 . Is this some sort of indirect racism from a chain that allegedly serves Mexican food in a French Dominated Canadian City ?
3.Small Portions Sizes than the other outlets. - We ordered a portion of Nachos & this is something we order at other 3 Amigos like 2-3 times a month. Point is , we know the portion size . This was 40% of what we usually get.
No Alcohol in my Not So Virgin Pina Colada. I ordered a Pina Colada with 2 Amigos i.e. 2 Shots of Rhum and I was served a Virgin Pina Colada.
Again, I fail to understand if the management of this branch are simply incompetent or if we were being targeted for being Indians. Whatever the issue, I hope the upper management takes this into consideration and acts on it. The branch is very well located, right next to Notre Dame which serves as a hub for tourists attractions and if this is how the Manager and his people are going to behave, It wont make...
Read moreIt pains me to write this review as I was expecting so much from this restaurant after reading all the reviews. I wanted to eat at a really good restaurant to start my journey exploring Montreal. However it didn't go as expected.
Let's start with the postives, the atmosphere was really good. Good vibes around, waiteress tried to be nice given the situation. (More on this below) Thank you to the waitress for trying to understand my broken french.
Now the bad, the service wasn't technically bad but they were heavily understaffed so the service was really slow and therefore challenging. The waitress was trying her best to be kind and tried her best to listen and understand my broken french (props to her for trying)
The food. This one has no way out. We ordered Flautas de Pollo Crujiantes (fried chicken rolls), Veg Burrito and Pollo Caliente (crispy chicken tacos) and a mango mojito. Mango mojito and Flautas de Pollo Crujiantes (especially the guac served with it) were really good.
The veg Burrito, filled with vegetables (who puts cauliflower and celery in a burrito?) was bland not flavorful at all. It was served with a side of red rice, refried beans and salad. Everything on that plate tasted bland, weird and bad.
The crispy chicken tacos my friend had was 80% sauce, 20% filling. It tasted alright but it was so saucy that my friend left most of it.
I say this with a heavy heart as I was expecting really good food to start my journey exploring Montreal but I would NOT...
