We had high hopes for Cafeterra but unfortunately, our experience fell short. The space is charming, but the food and service were inconsistent and left much to be desired. The London Fog lacked flavor—very mild and underwhelming. The pesto pasta looked pale and tasted just as bland, with the texture leaning toward overcooked as it practically dissolved with every bite.
Dishes came out at completely different times, and one croissant didn’t arrive until nearly 20 minutes after the rest of the food. We had to stand up and ask about it after waiting 25 minutes with no update, and the staff at the counter showed no concern or apology—just a casual “it got missed.” The lack of customer service from the counter staff was disappointing, with no greeting or friendliness at all.
The salads were also underdressed—felt like eating plain lettuce. The avocado toast with shrimp was decent (7/10), but still missing a flavorful punch. The croissant, when it finally came, was actually quite good (8/10) and came with a tasty sauce.
To their credit, our server—a young woman—was fast, helpful, and the one saving grace of the visit. She apologized multiple times and even brought over three macaroons as a gesture, which was appreciated. Still, the overall experience had already been affected.
Unfortunately, this visit was a miss, and I wouldn’t return. Hopefully, the management addresses the service gaps and consistency in food quality going forward
Edit: went from 2 stars to 1 star because the answer from the owner further proves the point about the lack of service and...
Read moreCute cafe shop with an extremely rude and racists owner, I believe the lady with short white hair is the owner. The minute we walked in and found a spot to sit, she crossed her arms and signaled at us to sit at another table, the shop was nearly empty, then she came storming asking us to sit somewhere else, maybe she did not want us displayed at the front of her shop because of our look. I have never experienced such terrible and rude customer service. The guy took over and he was nicer, but she kept complaining openly about us.
Response to owner: The attitude was the minute we walked in, before we even sat down, we wanted to immediately leave because of your approach and disrespectful demeanor. We have not touched anything or sat on any chairs when you rushed angrily towards us. We have never experienced such attitude, but keep it up and you will loose your customers. We respect that each place has their own rules, but communicating professionally is important. The other gentleman who served us was nice and professional and we caused no issues during our brief stay. However, the impact of your approach got us to write this review. Perhaps work on your...
Read moreHad a rather off-putting experience with one of the waiters. I walked inside and asked one (very nice) waitress if there was room for two outside. She said no and that folks sitting outside were expecting others but that she could seat me inside. I thanked her and went back out to grab my partner. When we walked back in, we were greeted by another waiter and we asked for a table for 2 inside. He looked at us and said there was no room for us. We looked around rather confused because there were plenty of places. He didn’t say they were reserved or offer to have us be added to any waitlist, just very unapologetically refused to seat us. On our way back out the door, we passed the female waitress who asked if we were sitting inside. I replied no and mentioned the other waiter said there was no room. She looked at me confused and she spoke to the male waiter, we could not understand their French conversation but he said something rather aggressive and we just continued on our way out the door. Carrying on the rest of our afternoon wondering what we may have done wrong… we ended up eating at the Katiza Cafe across the street that...
