The inside of this breakfast place is cute once you get past the relatively dirty staircase and dusty patio at the front. First thing to note is that the AC is not on; the place has no windows since it’s below ground. On a day where the outside was 25 degree, the warm place attracted a lot of flies. This is already not a great first impression, but since we are already seated, we hope the food and service would help with the experience. After getting seated, my partner and I had to wait for at least 15 min from being offered the menu to placing the order. The place was still quite empty at this point, so we wondered what took the male server so long to attend to us. Once we got the food after another 15 minutes wait, the first thing I noticed was that the toast on my plate is missing. I’m having a breakfast plate, so I cannot start until I get the bread. After waiting for a few minutes, we finally got the server’s attention, and got our bread. The bread was provided pretty fast which we appreciated. This is when everything began to go downhill. The food was extremely mid. I had eggs, sausages with a French toast and a crepe, accompanied by an arugula salad. My plate was pretty bad. Sausages were flavourless, the arugula salad was drenched with balsamic vinegar, the french toast was very much not a French toast since the middle of the bread is mostly dry. The truffle oil potato was the only thing I would actually order again. The menu has all sorts of different things, so maybe condensing the menu and actually put more efforts in maintaining a good quality of each items would help with low quality of the food. Now after we finished our plates, we just wanted to go because of the heated room and flies. It took us 5 minutes to get the male server to notice us, another 10 minutes to get the bill. At this point, most of our patience has been spent. I waved down another female server in hopes of getting the bill, this is when the male server came and asked if everything was okay. Mind you he still haven’t given us the bill at this point, but he came to collect the dishes. I responded saying I would love to have the bill and get out of this place. He then proceeded to call me rude after I have patiently waited so long. If this male server would reflect on their own performance instead of immediately defending himself, this would have been a tolerable experience. Being called rude while you sweated with flies all around you is not what any customers want at the end of a meal. Consider rethinking your career choice if you are so unhappy with serving people.

Having brunch at L’Oeufrier brought me to the ER today. We loved this place and used to eat here every month or two. Today we decided to eat again but I got my ankle twisted just in front of the entrance. As it turned out, the asphalt in front of the entrance was in terrible condition, as you can see on the photos. The restaurant decided it was a good idea to just cover all those pieces of asphalt with a piece of rubber. My foot slipped on one of the pieces and I ended in the ambulance. So, here’s a request to the owner: according to the staff, you are aware of this problem, so please either repair this area or at least don’t cover it so people can see where they are stepping. I was lucky not to have a fracture, but another person might not be so lucky. One more thing: the food got worse. We decided to have breakfast anyway before heading to the hospital (our waiter offered to put it on the house). My pancakes and my partner's waffles were downright tasteless and even sour, not sweet at all. Very disappointing experience. I hope new owner will take all that into consideration and make some changes. The only good thing about this situation was attitude of the personnel. They treated me with a huge empathy and offered help immediately. Thank you.

We recently visited L'Oeufrier (De La Montagne) for breakfast and had a great experience. While the service was a little slow, the food was delicious and our server was very nice. We ordered the breakfast burger and was impressed with the generous portion size and perfectly cooked eggs. My dining companion ordered the crepes, which were equally tasty. The crepes were light and fluffy, and the fillings were flavorful and satisfying. The milkshakes were also delicious and are definitely a must have. The restaurant itself has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, and the menu offers a good selection of breakfast and brunch options. It's no wonder that it gets busy, as it's a great spot for a relaxing and delicious meal. Overall, while the service was a little slow, our server was friendly and attentive, and the food was great. I would definitely recommend L'Oeufrier (De La Montagne) for breakfast or brunch, and I would give it a solid four-star rating.

How & where do I begin? Well, let's start with the server... Given the blue hair.. I will hence forth call them "Blue". So, me and my girlfriend sat down for breakfast.. Around 9am. The place was busy, noisy and very hot; There was little to no airflow... And with all these downtown liberals so concerned with vaccines and masks.. This was a genuine super spreader event baised on socal distancing and close confined space; however, I digress. After 5 minutes Blue came by and gave us our menus. Soon later, served us our coffee and water, and took our order. By 9:50.. We just recieved our food. A plate with 2 eggs and some meat and potatoes. 45 minutes for that, is simply unacceptable. As soon as the food was dropped off, Blue was back to their chores cleaning dishes and or cutlery.... No clue why a breakfast spot would have their servers doing this... Unless it was for a cost saving. The food was ok... And decient for the money for a downtown Montreal place. But, the one thing that really bothered me were the few little things.... We were given a basket for sugar and milk for our coffees... There was a open and used sugar packet and milk container. Gross. The next, my order was for whole wheat, not white. All the food was just warm... Not hot. So it was sitting for a little while at least befor getting to us. The next, my girlfriend ordered a salad and not bread. When we asked Blue about this, he said "We are sorry. They must have ran out of salad and gave you this instead". Then, the next plate to be served by him, one table over next to us... Had salad on their plate. I will do many things... But play stupid is not one of them. This is a lazy group of servers.. Or they seem to be overworked and under staffed. In any case, I can't reccomend this place. It's not a good place for a little slice of Montreal cuizine.... It's just a glorified Mc Donalds. No culture here, no cares, semingly no standards... Just eat,...
