Food was really good, certain items seem hard to justify its value but overall quality was decent. Service was something else, waiter came to wipe our table with my napkin then left it for me to use, am I suppose to wipe my mouth with the “table wipe”? We brought a little cake to celebrate our best friend’s birthday as most restaurant do allow to bring birthday cakes, waiter came to tell us we can’t do the birthday cake, so we ordered and the chocolate cake which looks ordered in a pile rather than done in house, came up on the bill after spending decent amount of $ for only few of us. It just the moment makes people think the minimum tip % should be 10% instead of 15% , because the service just doesn’t justify anymore. At least not here. ** to reply the restaurant’s comment——my friend witnessed the waiter did wipe the table with my napkin while I was talking , very quickly and left it there as it is. I was reminded not to use it again cuz it was disgusting , but now I’m surprised they are disgustingly denying it. Why don’t you go check your own camera footage? Also, your meat was good but not hard to replicate, with good quality meat, right temperature(charcoal) and marinate well before, anyone knows how to cook, can do it and even better!! People eat out for experience, not to be disrespected on their birthday, and this experience we had, will never again. Good luck with your unappetizing attitude and guys there is so many other good restaurants in...
Read moreWe had a wonderful dinner at Papito! Our waiter, Juan, was very helpful with our decision making on what to order. They have menus in English, which made it easier for us to know some of the items. But Juan described each dish in detail and gave us history of the restaurant.
We ordered asparagus as a vegetable, Pork Sausage and Lamb Chops as our mains, and the charcoal potatoes as a side. We also ordered chimichurri sauce (highly recommend).
The ambiance was immaculate. This is a great place to have a romantic dinner or a gathering of friends/colleagues. Just be aware this is more of a family-style adventure. It’s ideal if you can share plates (and the bill). There are a variety of seating areas (bar, tables, inside/outside).
Our meat choices were spectacular. The lamb was medium rare (fine, but we weren’t given an option for temperature). The pork sausage had a cheese inside and that was fun. The chimichurri sauce elevated the flavors so well. It was bright, fresh, and added depth to the meal.
If you’re reading this, GET THE POTATOES! Yes, there are muscles, yes, it has tomatoes, it also has chorizo, and all of that together sounds chaotic, but I promise you’ll enjoy them.
We didn’t order any drinks so I can’t say...
Read moreOn a recent visit to Montreal, I discovered a new restaurant downtown. Housed in a former large shoe store with a simple entrance marked only by the street number above the door. As you step inside, you’re greeted by a large, vibrant dining hall flanked by a huge open kitchen with a prominent charcoal grill. At the far end of the space is a beautiful patio! Was full but looked very inviting! While the space is beautiful, the food is the star here, with fresh, locally sourced farm-to-table meats and vegetables. Every dish is prepared with care and creativity, and the presentation is nothing short of gorgeous. But the taste is even better! The friendly service enhances the dining experience, making you feel welcome and well-cared for. There was also an excellent wine list to complement the dishes. Must try’s - the sausage, ceviche and duck! This hidden gem, named Papito as a tribute to the owner’s father, is destined to become one of the best restaurants in town. Don’t miss the chance to...
