Poke Monster (St-Denis) — Restaurant in Montreal

Disappointing Experience I visited Poke Monster febuary 18 around 1:30 am, and unfortunately, my experience was terrible. At first everything was fine, the guy at the front desk took my order and we were waiting. When I got home, "litterally on the other side of the street", i realised that he gave me sonetging that I did not order. We had 4 poke and he charged me not only for something I did not want, but also for something that was more expensive. I called and explained the situation, he told me that he knew about the mistake and that I could come back to pick the other bowl and keep the extra one he made in error and he appologised. I asked him if they did delivery and he could bring it to me on the other side of the street, and he explained that they do not do deliveries, which understood, requiring me to return. I was not angry at him for messing up my order because I understand that people have bad and long days or things happenning in their personal lives affecting their concentration.

Here is were everything went down to hell, as I got there, the staff told me that he did not make me another poke but gave me the tempura shrimp as an entree and a juice (i ordered the tempura poke), there was reluctance to replace the incorrect order. I told him that I appreciate it but that I really needef my poke because i cannot eat the one he gave me (the monster) because i cannot eat raw fish therefore i really needed it to be replaced. He proceeded to become disrespectfull and tell me that he is doing me a favor by giving me "free" shrimp and a juice..... and i told him that it wasnt the case because he is the one who messed up my order and also charged me extra for the other bowl. I repeated that i COULD NOT eat the other bowl. He asked me why i did not bring it back and i ecplained that he was the one who told me to keep it and i gave it to my boyfriend who could eat it.

After some discussion, he eventually agreed to fix my bowl. However, the manner in which it was handled was EXTREMELY unprofessional – a tantrum, coat throwing, and aggressive preparation of the replacement bowl. He was litterally throwing things around. I appreciate rectifying the mistake but hope for more composed and customer-friendly service in the future.

I don't usually write these reviews unless the service was extremely good or extremely bad. I would say that this the worst experience I had...

Its been 2 years i am Ordering on uber from poke monster(saint denis). Only 2 times it was very very good food. I thought they improved their taste , i was very happy, me and my boyfriend, we decided to order late night on Saturday 17 june, the rice was very overcooked and still had water in them and half rice was uncooked. There chicken keep breaking in half because it get water from rice. We was very disappointed that we order dinner and it came out like this. So yesterday i wanted to give it try , i ordered on uber and after i order i called them that please make it in good way and i explain my last bad experience, they asked my name and order, i was happy that it would be good today, i ordered extra chicken that i didn’t receive, i order 2 extra things in poke bowl that they put very less for the price. Rice was very hard to chew. I paid 35$ for the food, i didnot able to eat. I give it try 2 times and 2 times i am very disappointed. This used to be my go-to spot on St-Denis. I live nearby and would go at least once a week with my girlfriend. I found it significantly better than the other Poke Monster locations. Somehow it tasted better, and the portions were bigger, with more meat. The person that served me explained that the ownership changed two weeks ago and that they aimed to standardize the service with the other locations. I told him jokingly I was worried because I actually liked this location before. He told me he added more salmon to make sure it would be up to par. It was not. The two bowls I ordered were overfilled with 90% white rice, didn’t have enough sauce, and only had a thin layer of salmon cut in tiny cubes covering rice. Upon taking my first bite and immediately seeing all the rice hiding underneath, it was clear that it wasn’t the same quality of food anymore. This broke my heart. Probably the last time...
