I wanna share some bad experiences here. Today was the first day i came here, we decided to go here cuz one of my friends said that this resto is kinda good and the servers there are really nice. Our group has 6 people and we definitely know that its mandatory to add tips. Everything went bad when one of my friend (A) ate a piece of nylon in the Shanghai noodle. She gave the piece of nylon to another girl (B) because this B girl knows cantonese so we needed her to show this to the waitress near there. Then a woman with glasses came for this accident, my friend just said 1 or 2 words about why there was a nylon in out food, but the woman gave seriously bad attitude to my friend B. She explained in an agressive way to my friend like this is my friend’s fault. She gave no time for my friend to response. Personally, it was rude. Then my friend asked like if there were any possible ways to fix this. Again, that woman being rude , she didnt mention about the discount she would give to us, she assumed we absolutely knew! then she said to my friend B like “we r asians, chinese, vietnamese,.. but why you have to be that mean to me?” and then my friend asked ab how many percent she could give, she told my friend “you pay by cash, you will have 15% discount + tips automatically” So that basically, it means we didnt pay tax. So my biggest sister had to talk in english again witn here cuz it’s not a discount, we expected to have 15% on the price free tax. But we couldnt bargain anymore because that woman admitted that she doesnt know english well and my friend, she was born here, so she also doesnt speak cantonese that well. For me, the food is good, but the service like this is terrible. The worst point was that she gave bad attitude to my friend since my friend is real young, and she didnt respect us while we were talking to her, she jumped as a frog and didnt let us to complain. That was so rude. Me and my friends, we will go never go back to this...
Read moreI mean, I really didn't have high expectations so that in itself made for an okay experience. We got the Canto noodles, fried rice, mixed veggies and dumplings. The dumplings were a huge disappointment as they were underdone and tasteless. The problem is they are so packed and don't speak the best english so making a complaint isnt even worth it.
The food also felt microwaved because usually hot food from the pan you can tell is steaming but when things are microwaved the heat is trapped underneath and in the middle so the steam doesn't rise. Again, not the end of the world but not good either.
The mixed veggies and fried rice were the saving grace here because the Canto noodles were not good until I put some soy sauce in. Otherwise, a forgettable place and I am sure there are some better options around selling the same type of food with better service...
Read moreThe food was great. My family is from the south region of China, so a lot of the dishes felt very familiar. However, their eggplant dish was really sour, and it didn't taste good at all. They had both english/french and chinese parts in their menu, but I noticed they were very tricky by putting the hotpot on the chinese section only. Really weird imo. Their service was TERRIBLE. Really rude servers, lack of answers, and really mean vibes. We had asked for hotpot many times but the server just gave us rude answers, such as "there is no space on the table" and "the cook doesn't want to do it". It was maybe rush hour for them, but to treat us like they didn't want our business is really upsetting. Really unprofessional.
Tldr; Will come back for the food (but stay away from their eggplant dish), but the service can...
