Not recommended - there are ample other choices nearby. This is our genuine experience if you do want an honest review. First impressions were dreadful; we entered into a full restaurant (which is often a good sign) and headed a few steps to a vacant table by the window but within seconds got shouted at by a female who literally (throwing her arms around) ordered us to the back and shouted the table in the front was for six people. We should have really exited at that point. She was so rude. The three of us were seated at the back, literally squeezed in, adjacent to a table of 12 they had put together. The condition of the restaurant was poor, it's not clean, the floors ripped seats, tables, even the staff - needs a real deep clean - we used plenty of hand sanitiser. They even give you plastic plates to eat from - literally those you get at a children's party - unbelievable. The male staff members who took our order were fine, and the food arrived very quickly, literally minutes. The food itself was ok to disappointing due to it being very salty and greasy. Please avoid at all costs the aubergine dish - the size of the aubergine pieces were ridiculous, we couldn't eat it, you would literally need a knife and fork. The portions of the food are generous, and their pricing is on the cheaper side (which aligns with the lower quality dished to customers). The final interesting bit was the bill. Due to the extremely rude women earlier on, I click on "no" for the tip. The girl at the till then asked if I was therefore going to pay by card and leave the 20% separately. I didn't honestly understand what she meant and the rude women from earlier then came over to explain the tip must be paid as its for the staff. I had endured enough of her and this restaurant by this point and to avoid causing a drama on our first visit to canada i decided it was easier to pay the minimum tip and leave as soon as I could. Note that on paying the tip I didn't receive any thanks at all. There are so many excellent alternatives nearby, do avoid this, unless you want poor service, an unclean environment, children party plates, salty food and being ordered that you must pay a tip, without any...

Service: The service is not Ameican/Canadian. They are blunt and straight to the point. When there was a line of people waiting, they removed people from the restaurant that were no longer eating to make more room. The upside is that the wait isn't long if you are going, but it can be disheartening if you are told to leave. Just know that it's not personal and the place is always busy so the staff do what they have to do! The staff also speak English, Chinese/Cantonese, and French. The menu is in French/English but still understandable if you don't know any French because I don't know any and could read it fine. There is also an English version online.
Food: The food is a hit or miss for people who do not have a history with authentic Cantonese/Chinese food, my my tip is to go with something you know will be good. Out of my family of 4, I was the only one who was very happy. The dishes that were not such a success were fried rice with 2 sauces, beef with vegetables, and Cantonese (fried) chow mein. I had the chicken fried rice and it was absolutely deliciousssss!!! The salt amount was perfect, the base flavour was amazing, and the chicken had a very good flavor and texture (it was soft and not tough or overcooked) Definitely recommend!!!
Price: The pricing was very good, 10-15 usd for most dishes, can be more for the fancier dishes
Overall: Don't freak out if the staff are frank with you and go with what you know will be good. The food is authentic (and really good) and I would definitely urge you to give this...
Read moreYikes! We were not expecting a huge block party in the museum area on a Friday night and there were thousands of people in the streets and overflowing into the restaurants so it was really hard to get a table anywhere in the vicinity. Our walk towards the water reached Chinatown shortly and it was like the pick of the draw that we ended up in this place. This eatery is everything that you'd expect from a Chinese place with tight seating, loud chattering, less than pleasant service and plastic lined table cloths with a man serving the food with his sweaty white t-shirt rolled up at the sleeves and looked as though he was either the dishwasher or prep cook. He did a great job bringing the food out and was courteous but I think they should at least get him a collared polo shirt if he is going to be out serving food to the patrons. The three dishes we ordered was bland and comparable to a fast food Chinese joint. We had the Chinese broccoli which was good but that would really be hard to mess up. The other two dishes were braised tofu and orange peel beef. The tofu was very dry and did not have enough sauce. The orange beef was a clump of fried beef sauteed in some sweet and sour sauce. The only saving grace was that the $50 CAD price was only about $37 USD. Why did I get Chinese food in Montreal? Cause it was 8pm and getting late! SORRY FOLKS..but I guess I'm more accustomed to better Chinese cuisine even on an island...
