We come to Montreal at least once a year and every time we visit the city, that means a visit to Restaurant Siciliana, our favourite Italian restaurant in Montreal. I’ve always ordered the Trio Di Pasta, which is a plate that serves a little bit of each of their top selling pastas - Cappelletti Caterina, Spaghetti Bolognese and Fettuccine Alfredo. It is my absolute favourite thing to eat on the menu. The three individual portions are just big enough that you get to enjoy each of the pastas, and the overall portion size is quite generous. Each of the pastas are fantastic. The dishes are kept simple and cooked well. We brought our two small children with us this time - our 4 year old and our 7 year old. My daughter also enjoyed the Trio Di Pasta while my son enjoyed their spaghetti bolognese from the kids menu. They’ve both proclaimed that this is their favourite pasta restaurant. We had to in fact visit again even though we were in the city for only 4 days because they begged us to go back before we had to go home. If you are in the downtown area, I would highly recommend that you stop by. You’ll be greeted with friendly staff and a great Italian meal with generous portions and reasonable prices.

On vacation in Montreal, kids were craving for pasta for dinner, saw this place near by our hotel. I know the reviews weren’t up there, but figured reviews aren’t always accurate. Just like my previous experience in Brussels, a high google review restaurant but turned out to be a tourist trap. So this Italian restaurant was decent, 3.9 stars was just about right. We ordered Penne with pink sauce with meat balls, and chicken fettuccine Alfredo and a large Caesar salad. Everything turned out okay, only the meat ball was kinda flaky, it wasn’t as good as traditional meat balls. Caesar salads were mediocre at best with bacon bites. Usually Caesar salads don’t have bacon bites. But the ladies that took our order was friendly and nice. Which is a plus for services. But the restaurant really needs some update, as it feels like outdated pizzeria in the 1980s.

Extremely disappointing! We were in town for an event Sunday afternoon. We had looked around at places in the area to have dinner after the show. We were a group of six, including two young kids under five. We went to this restaurant around 6 PM we were all so excited to go and have pizza and we knew that the kids would enjoy it! we walked in to see there were about 10 other people eating. This left the restaurant more than 2/3 empty. The waitress asked how many we were in our party and we told her six and she stumbled for a moment and then told us no sorry we we can’t take you. So clearly from how she answered us, If our party had been smaller, they would’ve accepted us. Which I don’t understand because you have two families who are there to spend their money and your restaurant is empty, but you won’t seat us, on top of it with two young children. We stood there, confused not understanding why we couldn’t be seated, so she just walked away from us and left us there alone at the entrance trying to figure out what to do. it was dinner time the kids were hungry and now we were at a loss. Then some man came to the front who I’m assuming was the owner or manager, telling us that every single table in that restaurant that didn’t have a patron in it was reserved. There were no reserved signs on any of the tables. Yet somehow in his restaurant that was over 2/3 empty every seat was reserved. I was absolutely appalled, and shocked of how we were treated. I do not recommend this place solely for the fact of how we were treated, it’s extremely unfortunate as we were extremely excited...

Service was good but not awesome. The young lady who showed us our seats was smiling and real nice but the waiter who took our orders was barely speaking and not smiling at all...

Pizzas were tasting like frozen pizzas, even Dr Oetker frozen pizzas taste better... I had the pizza del chef, ingredients tasted like low quality ingredients and the pizza dough for sure is not home made. The mozzarella cheese didn't taste nothing, it was just like a bland chewy plastic paste...

It was a real disappointment... I paid 30$ for a pizza and the beer (15% tips included) and it was so bad I didn't ate the whole pizza. At first we wanted to go to the brigade (at 50 meters from there) but due to the waiting line we decided to give this restaurant a try... Big mistake, next time I'd rather wait 20 minutes under the snow or the rain than going to this restaurant again.

For all the persons who left a comment like : "great pizza", "authentic home made italian dishes" : I bet you never went to italy and it's not because there's written somewhere that the dishes were homemade that it's necessarly true... And please abstain yourself from posting comments like that cause people like this...

Do yourself a favour, go 50 meters further and go to the brigade instead (or to N900, 5 min walk from there on...
