I didn’t ass photos as they’re plenty of them so refer to the existing photos.
So atmosphere is kinda cool and has many nostalgic design elements which is fun and even a bit entertaining.
Service is a s quick as it is busy. You have to get in line to place your order and if there are many people the line can take a while.
Food.
So their food is made of good quality and fresh ingredients.
The pizza. It is super thin and highly well done at the bottom similar to an authentic NYC pizza. The main problems were with the pepperoni pizza it was overly greasy so much so I had to apply table napkins to speak up all the oil. There is very little sauce, I think they may paint it on every so slightly as you really can’t taste any sauce. The cheese is also very thin and does not typically cover a slice or the pizza on the whole and you can feel ripped off given their price points. Myself and others found it tiresome to be at the pizza as it was tough to chew. This is a weird statement as its usually used for when eating a steak, but similarly because the pizza is very well done at the bottom and with the limited amount of sauce and cheese it’s just a tiring and excessive amount of effort to chew this pizza. Perhaps this is a preference style as this place does do a good business. For me I prefer the NYC pizza that balance the crisp bottom with noticeable sauce, plenty of cheese and toppings and not very greasy. But to each his/her/it/that/she/he/they/them… taste.
Also took out a Caesar salad and was shocked because the price ($10.95 for a large) is soo high and the box contained so little. It’s like ordering a Cesar salad at a high end Italian restaurant and you get a portion the size of a fist in these new paper lined brown boxes you get these days. It was not impressive thigh the taste was delicious.
For me this is not a repeat as the style of the pizza is not to my liking and it’s...
Read moreDashed in for a quick slice, did not pre-tip, as tips are for quality of service, so fast food cannot work on tips, can it? Boy did I get punished - cold slice, right off the cold counter! Empty store, Saturday May 28 four-ish PM. Me - Slice of chicken pizza please? Her- card swipe, hands over cold slice Me - Er... can you warm it up? Her, walking away - "Normally you tip for that" Me - Oh, I did not know that at all, first time here Her, silently puts it in the oven, walks to the backstore Comes back, hands it over after a minute... just right into my hands, whereupon I motion to the paper plate that stayed on the counter... Argh, she reaches for it... 18 and so flustered! Her - 'It's just common courtesy, you know, common courtesy!" Me, Eating cool to lukewarm chicken pizza slice, "I'll remember that!"
What I do remember is the complete lack of courtesy, extorting a tip by purposely offering the worst possible service, the vile attitude.
Truly the worst possible service for a sunny Saturday afternoon on Monkland, how can I ever go back to such a place or recommend...
Read moreI was genuinely disappointed in my experience there I came out of a 3 km run. I saw the restaurant on Monkland and I had heard about it on social media so I was excited to try it Little that I know after ordering two slices I see that a group of five girls entered the restaurant after me, but after 15 minutes, I see that they all got served before me to the point I got up and asked to the guy at the cash. How long should I be waiting? Is it gonna be much more longer ?I was surprised that they had received their food before me, and to realize that he had completely forgot about me is unacceptable. I’m not trying to cause anybody trouble but still this is a place of work and behaviour like Shouldn’t Tolerated at least if the pizza was good I could’ve brushed it all over but genuinely it was disappointing. Pizza was lacking cheese or any flavor. Here are some pictures to support my argument. Anywhoo don’t believe tye hype but s/o to the guy in the kitchen tho he was actually putting in the work wish i could have given...
