Do NOT go here unless you want to be embarrassed and feel discriminated against! And definitely don’t go here if you’re with a group! Called the front desk of the hotel and then hit extension 3 for the rooftop. Spoke to a woman on the phone, who was very friendly, and I asked if they had space to accommodate a group of 8 people. She said they take reservations for 8 or more. I gave my name and phone number, and she confirmed on the phone the table was reserved. I showed up with 5 people from my group at the time of the reservation and they wouldn’t sit us. Not only was I basically accused of lying (saying I had a reservation when they apparently don’t take reservations) in front of my group, but they didn’t even TRY to accommodate us when there was clearly a mixup. A man said that they don’t take reservations for groups of 8 or less, and because we were only 6 total we asked if we could sit until the rest of our group showed up, nope! Asked if we could sit in two tables of 4 people each, nope! I brought colleagues and clients! I am completely embarrassed. It is clear they did not want us there, they did not want our business! We were checking out the space to see if could have a work function there.. Don’t support this place unless you want to be treated...

Would give only one star, the second star is only bonus for the view. Went there in the intention to get a drink with a view. First we waited at the entrance to get seated. Nobody showed up and as there was no sign or anything, so we seated ourselves. We were unsure, if there was self service or not, but as waiters were walking around serving other guests, we thought we would eventually get served (again, there was no indication, if there is self service or not) . We waited for quite a while end enjoyed the view. Nobody seemed to even take note of us, so eventually, we went over to the bar and asked for a menu. An non motivated, unfriendly waiter gave it to us, so we had a look. As expected, the prices were astronomical. The drinks cost twice as much as in other places. Well, the prices alone wouldn't be the problem. It is legitimate to have higher prices in special locations, but for that price, I expect as well an outstanding service, which they do definitely not offer up there. After all, we left the location without having consumed anything. At least, we got a nice...

This place is easily one of the top terrace destinations in Downtown Montreal. It has a beautiful view of the city skyline ✨ The atmosphere is chic yet relaxed, with great music, beautiful lighting, and an overall feel-good energy that sets the tone for a lovely evening.

Here’s what we ordered: Oysters with Asian mignonette ($19) – Light, fresh, and beautifully plated. A great starter that feels both healthy and indulgent. Mango salad ($14) – Fresh and well-seasoned. Sashimi salmon ($21) – Loved it! For dessert: Crème brûlée ($13) Tapioca pudding with mango sorbet ($13)

Pro tip: Visit around sunset 🌇 or have a late dinner. It’s a great date night spot thanks to the city vibes, but also perfect to enjoy with friends.

Overall, Terrasse R is a great spot to chill and enjoy the city’s skyline. It’s refined without being stiff, the menu has a good variety, and the overall experience is consistently enjoyable.

I had one last afternoon to go for lunch before heading to the airport, and decided to head up to a rooftop patio for an early lunch in the neighborhood. It was good to arrive at 1130am when they just opened, as they got very busy within a half hour, and stayed that way until I left at 1pm. There are two options for seating- 50% in the sun along the windows, and 50% around the central bar in the shade. Ordered the pinot grigio and the salad Larb au Poulet. Both the wine and the salad were crisp and delicious. The kitchen wasn't afraid to use fish sauce in the Thai dressing in the salad. Only downside was I chose a table in the sun and it was VERY hot. Other tables were ordering the sushi options and seemed pleased with their selections. Would recommend overall - at a shady table!
