I had an amazing time and experience at Tsujiri! I had an original matcha latte with soy milk, an Unagi Dashi Chazuke and a Tsujiri Signature Parfait. Everything is absolutely amazing and delicious.

The matcha latte is very creamy and foamy. It was just sweet enough to enhance the matcha's flavour and really make it shine. If you have a less sweet tooth, 50% sugar makes it good!

At first, I was skeptical about the savoury food. It looked like a dessert speciality place. I'm glad I was wrong! The unagi (eel) taste the same as the ones I've had in Japan. It's the authentic experience. I would highly recommend it. All the sides in the Dashi Chazuke were good. I was surprised at the soba sushi!

I had a taste of the Tonkatsu soba. The broth has the complexity and depth of Japanese culinary arts. It is delicious.

I absolutely loved the parfait!! It reminded me of one's I've had in Japan. There's a layer of roasted rice in the middle and at the bottom some anko (corse red bean paste). When you combine everything with the matcha ice cream, it feels like the ultimate mix : the crunchiness of the roasted rice, the soft ice cream, the sweetness of the anko and the slightly bitterness of the matcha. And bonus : there's 4 square mochi (2 kinako flavour and 2 matcha flavour) and a monaka husk!!

In a second visit, I've had the Ebiten Saniki Udon. I'm not a fan of udon, but the noodles were perfectly cooked! Not too soft nor too hard. The broth isn't as good at the one in the Tonkatsu Soba.

Note : 1) you can order your meal and dessert at the same time, but ask for your dessert or latte for later! When you've finished your meal, you then go to the counter to claim your items :) 2) they give you a kind of remote when you order, so you can go, take a seat and relax. When your order is ready, it will ring to tell you to get your meal! You can turn it off by pressing it (it took me a while to notice the feature).

Update: I'm not vegetarian, it's possible to adapt the ochazuke and ask for tofu...

Don't get me wrong. I love matcha. And I love true Japanese experience. But this store, at least for now, has little to do with an actual Japanese culture.

Extremely slow service (I waited for 20 minutes in line and additional 30 minutes to get my matcha). It's unacceptable. Please note that it was not Friday night, it was a usual weekday evening.

Serving that does not make any sense. It is just not ok to serve a piece of cake, and to bring matcha only 20 minutes later. I know for a fact that it would have never happened in Japan.

Tips don't exist in Japan, point. If you attempt to deliver a true Japanese experience (as you do well with the decoration of the place), pay attention to each detail, especially considering that prices are already outrageous for matcha.

By the way, watcha was OK, but not WOW.

Extremely poor seating arrangements in the shop. They could have easily placed comfortably 20 more seats for people to actually sit and enjoy the experience.

Plastic forks for eating cakes served on beautiful wooden plates. Ridiculous contrast and low consciousness about the environment. Quite surprising for a Japanese store, to the the least.

Would definitely not come back, and would not recommend it (maybe...

Came here with friends on a Friday night. The seating is a bit limited and super busy. We tried the two ice cream flavors - the matcha was very rich and the houjicha is a but of a lighter flavour but can really taste the tea. The shiratama parfait was a good mix of matcha jelly, red bean layers topped with a very warm and spongy mochi and matcha ice cream with kiromitsu sauce. We also tried the cheese cakes, which have several layers with match and other flavours that contrasted well. It was also not too heavy or overly sweet. Spongy yet noisy and creamy. Would definitely return to try other menu items. It's a bit pricey but worth it.

Update: There's also seating in the back with some tables and a small dinner menu with noodles and rice. The matcha red bean cake is very light and the scoops of read bean very rich. We tried the matcha pancakes, which come with a scoop of matcha and houjicha ice cream. The pancakes are hot, moist, light, and fluffy! They take at least 20 mins to make so it's a good idea to order it the same time as dinner so it arrives without a long wait. The owner and staff are all super nice and friendly. A...
