Came here for the first time with my son for boys night out and enjoyed great Sushi, Sashimi and rolls. No need to go downtown Toronto when you can have such good sushi here in Newmarket. I was pleasantly surprised since I've eaten sushi in many places including many times in Japan. OK, it is not as good as the Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo or many other places in Japan, but it was much better than I've experienced in most standard/typical Japanese restaurants here in Ontario, and the prices were very reasonable. The experience was also very authentic to many Tokyo sushi bars or ramen noodle shops.... meaning simple decor and very very small with only 3 or 4 tables, so we were lucky to get a seat. We arrived around 8PM on a Saturday, they close at 9PM and we heard the servers several times on the phone apologizing so politely to prospective customers that they where full and had no tables available. (They cater to mostly takeout). They also don't have any customer washrooms, but the server warned us of that in advance. And speaking of service, it was very good. So definitely deserves 5 starts for a sushi restaurant in the Newmarket/Aurora area. Will surely go back again and also try the ramen next time ! Only advice to owners.... you gotta expand and double the size of the dining room area... build it and...

For the past 3 months we have been ordering religiously from Sushi Jun once per week, spending an average of 65$ per order.. Every time we place our order we always ask for extra Ginger and they always provide us with extra ginger, no questions asked.

On Wednesday, April 14th, we placed our order and requested extra ginger. When I picked up my order, I noticed they gave us extra soy sauce (we never asked for this), not ginger. When I politely asked the lady for extra ginger, she handed me two tiny containers. When I asked if we can get one more, she stated that she had to charge me for it - I was shocked. When I stated we never get charged and they should have stated this on the phone, she still held her ground on charging us.

Needless to say, I did not argue, I merely waked out. Shame that you would treat loyal customers like this, that have been supporting your business during the pandemic. We are gladly to pay, but to hesitate to give me an extra ginger, knowing we order practically every week is a shame!

I will proceed to give you one last chance... but this review represents my recent experience and I'm very...

One thing that I always think as the most crucial point when ordering from Sushi Restaurant is the freshness. It shows how they organize ingredients to serve the best quality dishes, and it directly proves their all efforts by the food they serve. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for some nice place in Newmarket area for the fresh and flavourful sushi dishes, it's a must-try place. You will notice right away, after having a bite of sushi or sashimi. I've felt the texture is very nice and chewy which means the fishes that were used for those dishes I ordered were literally fresh. No need to worry about fishy smell or weird texture you'd experience when they are not fresh. Since lockdown started again, Sushi Jun is such a good alternative place to order some high quality Sushi Cuisines to celebrate with your people. Oh, and they do some authentic Korean foods as well. Like some typical but really good dishes they have been serving; such as Bulgogi, Galbi, etc. and Japanese Ramen Noodle Soup as well Go check out what they have; you...

Overall great customer service and decent sushi but some things didn't seem as fresh as expected. We did order pick up so I'm not sure if they had our order ready earlier than they told us they would (as we picked it up close to the time they told us) but the shrimp and crab tempura seemed as though they were just sitting there for a while and not at all crunchy (we had some in the car expecting the crunch). The avocado in the rolls also didn't seem as fresh as they looked darker, as if they put something on it to prevent it from browning, which I'm not used to seeing when having sushi. The crab in the rolls and tempura, I kind of expected it to be the fake crab but they should specify that in their menu. The sushi was ok but expected more.

Having read so many positive reviews about this restaurant I went to get a rainbow roll to go but sincerely regretted it. The rice was hard and tasted old. The fish was not exactly covering the roll in some places and was shorter than the sushi. The roll was not round. The ingredients were not not fresh but definitely not fresh either. The price listed on Google for the rainbow roll was 9.99 but it was 12 plus tax at the restaurant. I didn't realize this until I had a bite of the sushi and was shocked this could be rated a 4.6 place and went back to w confirm if I ordered from the correct restaurant given the gap in expectations. Overall a negative experience and would not recommend sushi lovers.
