We dined here 2 weeks ago on Sunday for my moms bday. We only selected it as other restaurants were too long to wait and we all wanted “brunch”. I stood at the entrance while wait staff passed by repeatedly - I just wanted to see if they had room for us. - they made eye contact but no one acknowledged me. I was a little concerned until finally a friendly waitress approached and asked to help me. Her name was Amy. She took my name and number and offered to call when a Table became free. Suddenly a large group stood up and left and she smiled and said I’ll clean that quickly for you and get you seated. We were off to a good start!
I assumed Amy would also be our waitress but unfortunately she was serving the other side of the restaurant. 😞
We ended up with the same waitress that had passed me three times at the front without acknowledging me. She had a shirt on that said “Canadian girls like to party” as her work outfit. We all ordered breakfast items - all egg dishes and one waffle dish - there was six of us in total. Our order took 58 minutes to arrive and we had no refills or attention during that time. The food came out hot and was tasty. Nearing the end of our visit the waitress became friendlier, offered to fill up coffee and tea and started referring to us as sweetie and putting her hand on my fathers shoulders while she stood behind him and spoke to the table. We all assumed it was getting close to “tip” time hence the increased contact. We were seated next to a table that was for seating but had a set up of silverware, some dishes and napkins for the wait staff to wrap for new tables. Someone who I believe may have been the owner - a petite woman with black hair, leggings and high heels - sat and ate food at that table beside the clean silverware. After finishing her food she then knocked some forks accidentally on the floor. I saw her look around the room, quickly bend over, pick them up and toss them back into the clean silverware pile. I could not believe it. I made eye contact with her so she was aware that I saw what she had done and she quickly looked away. That confirmed for me that we wouldn’t be back.
My father (early 70’s) was trying to tap his card for payment and our waitress who was likely in her 50’s with the “party girl” tshirt said “you have to tap your card on the back. He likes getting it in the rear”. My poor dad was stunned - when is that kind of talk appreciated?
Overall food was fine - it was eggs and toast - hard to really mess up. But if you reference the poor service, inappropriate comments, super long wait for food and the lack of cleanliness - I would not recommend and we won’t be returning.
Hope this helps to give a visual of what to expect. Proceed with...
Read moreI came here on Mother’s Day to enjoy breakfast but unfortunately the experience was awful. To start we were being served by the female who owns the establishment she was very incompetent and rude. I had ordered a coffee to start and had asked for her to bring out some milk packages because all of the ones on the table were cream she said she wanted to take the food order first and would be back with the milk packages. The glass was dirty and I had to wipe the dry coffee off from the previous customer but didn’t want to complain. After 20 minutes of seeing her going back and forth and cold coffee I had got up and went to another table to help myself to some milk packages still not wanting to complain. At that time the table beside us had sat down and another server had taken there order. After another 20 minutes there food came out and our food or milk hadn’t so I asked the other tables server what was going on with our food as we had ordered long before that table had even arrived she said she would tell our servers as she was not taking care of our table. 7 minutes after the other server had notified the owner serving us she finally went to the kitchen to check and came out with our food. No apology or nothing. I felt the food with my hand and it was cold at this point I was beyond frustrated and had said it’s cold I’m done. I don’t want this. She offered to make fresh food but I said I’m good I don’t want to wait more time when at this point I had already been there for almost an hour. She told me not to do that and I said what are you talking about you forgot our food you forgot to bring back the milk the glass was dirty and your being very rude. My partner was really hungry and said he would eat the cold food. She yelled at us and told us to get out of her establishment. I told her my partner wanted to eat and that we would leave after that she kept yelling get out. Making a huge scene so I raised my voice saying NO. I told her that she was incompetent and unprofessional and that we were regulars here this is not the way to treat customers overall I would not recommend this place. The service was horrible and if that is the way the owner treats customers it is not a place I would want to be eating at nor should you. Just an honest review from a frustrated mistreated customer on...
Read moreTerrible. Waited to be seated for 15 minutes at the door, while we watched tables leaving and being cleaned and available the entire time. The hostess just never made eye contact with any of the parties in line, and apparently didn't notice 5 empty tables! We finally get their attention, and get seated. Order was taken quickly which was good, but then we waited another HALF AN HOUR (or more!) for the food. Asked for a refill of water while waiting and got attitude. 4 surrounding tables had been sitting there since before we arrived, placed their orders, and still didn't have their food yet. I'm positive they waited at least 45 minutes! The table beside us that was there and waiting already got their food when we got ours. I'm amazed none of those tables complained. Then when one table finally got served and was asked how things were going, she said she couldn't even bite into her pancake because it was raw. Her waitress gave her attitude again, rudely saying she'll get her another one. As the waitress was walking into the kitchen (still in my view), she dug her fingers into the pancake to see if the customer was lying. When we finally got OUR food, it was terrible! Waffle was doughy, pancake was rubber and hard (my friend had indentation marks on his fingers, that's how hard he had to cut it). Home fries were bland boiled potato pieces. Then when we finally finished what we could considering how bad it was, we were in another line waiting to pay and get the hell out of there! Will NEVER be back! Can't believe they're still...
