Well! I don't know where to start.. I am scheduled to pick up two cakes at 4pm, I went there and the shop is closed. I called and nobody answered. Good thing, they still have a shop at the quay so I called that shop to tell them about my pickup order. Thanks to Katie for coming back. Apparently they closed at 4pm and the staff had left their shop, couldn't even bother to call me to ask if I was coming in to pick up the cake, or say they're about to close. Or could've ask me when I ordered, or when I went there to drop off the Lego pieces (2 days before pickup day) if I can pick up the cake earlier than 4pm. I appreciate the effort of the Lonsdale Quay staff, for calling someone to come in and help me, and for Katie (I think that's the name I heard) for coming back. But it could've been prevented if a proper communication was done. To make the matters worse, I went home and got even more disappointed about how my son's cake looked like. I mean considering the price, I was not expecting it to look like this at all (refer to the pics attached)! I ordered the cake Wed afternoon, scheduled to be picked up on Saturday at 4pm. Sure! Some can say it's rushed, but for an $80 cake to look like this? I don't know. But I went to their shop Wed morning to inquire about the cake. The staff said they can do it because it's still within their ordering window. So I ordered two cakes, the other one is nice and simple. But the cake for my son, looked so disappointing, looked so far from their price. Like, come on, It's $80 for a small cake! Honestly, I don't really mind the price because it's my boy's special day! It's rushed, yes I understand that's why I went at the shop 3 days before pick up to make sure it's still ok to order and they can still make the theme happened. I even went back Thursday morning to drop off some Lego pieces, they could've told me they can't make it if they think it's too rushed but they didn't. And to my disappointment, the cake looked so messy even my 5yr old son was not happy!

Katie from Butterlane Studio is truly one of the best event and wedding cake designers in Vancouver! Her incredible attention to detail, creative designs, and exceptional customer service have consistently impressed both me and my clients. As a professional event planner, I’ve had the pleasure of working with Kaite multiple times in 2024, and her professionalism and responsiveness give me complete peace of mind. I never have to worry about any mishaps or incorrect flavors on event days. And let’s talk about the cakes—they’re absolutely delicious! I highly recommend Butterlane Studio for your event or wedding cake and dessert needs. You won’t be disappointed!

Katie was amazingly accommodating when making our wedding cake - she met with us to sample flavours and spent tons of time taking about the design we were looking for. She then coordinated with our local florist to incorporate some of our flowers from the venue into the cake design. On the day of she delivered to our venue and assembled the cake to perfection. I would 100% recommend the blackberry Earl Grey flavour - my favourite of all the vegan options I tried from various bakeries in town. Our guests who were not vegan also loved it! The blackberry Earl Grey is also available in a gluten free version which was enjoyed by our guests as well.

Where to start. I first contacted this bakery to order cupcakes for my wedding. While the cupcakes themselves are delicious and they had a vegan option which was great, there were some errors to my order. After meeting with the owner to go over what I wanted. I had to follow up a few days later to get any sort of quote as she said they had been busy with pop ups. Once flavours were confirmed and I paid for part of them I needed to decrease the amount of cupcakes. I had to follow up with the owner again as I received no response and the deposit was due. Then comes the pick up of the cupcakes. The cupcakes that I ordered were not the right size and the flower icing design I had requested was not done on any of the cupcakes. The last straw has been trying to return the cake stand where their hours are advertised as 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday and both locations are closed with no sign or reasoning as to why.

When I was able to return the stand, I spoke with the owner and she did apologize for the errors and offered...
