My visit here yesterday was the worst service I've ever had at a restaurant in my life. It hurts me to write this review as I enjoy eating at this Red Lobster in the West end, but I'm too bothered to let it go. I came here yesterday (Good Friday) for lunch around 12:30pm, just my young daughter and I. We called ahead of time to see how busy it was and were told there was no wait, which was true. The waitress (older lady with glasses and blond hair) we had was just awful. She didn't introduce herself properly and quickly asked what we wanted to drink. Once the biscuits came, I asked for butter (my daughter will only eat them with butter), and she said she would bring it on her next round out. After over 20 mins of her coming back and forth to help other tables, I decided to go get the butter myself. I asked for it at the bar, and the awesome bartender quickly grabbed me some with no issues. Once our meals came, we were never checked on, not even once by this waitress; I had to flag her down just for parmesan cheese for my pasta dish which took forever. We had barely eaten anything off of our plates when she just came by and placed a to go container on our table, without me even asking for it. We asked for another basket of biscuits and she only brought a basket with 3 biscuits in it; I've never had a waiter bring half of a basket before but maybe it's because it was just the 2 of us which I guess is kind of understandable? I don't know... Heard her being extra kind to other tables. She asked the people right beside us if they wanted to make a donation for something , can't remember exactly what it was. She never asked me at all. I'm assuming maybe she thought I couldn't afford it, but I could be totally wrong. Once she set the machine for payment, she never came back to say thank you, or bye, or anything. She even passed us a few times on our way out and not even one word. I understand serving is a lot of work, but that is still no excuse to have treated us the way she did. The only saving grace was the host, who was exceptionally warm and welcoming. He can come across as slightly awkward but that didn't matter to me at all. He even went out of his way on our way out to let my daughter touch the live lobsters which was pretty cool. The other 2 waiters that were there seemed so warm and kind, and I wish they were able to serve our table. I don't think I will be back after this...
Read moreSuper disappointing experience this evening. We started off the evening asking if it was possible to be seated in a more quiet area off near the back and was told it would be a 5-10 minute wait which was no issue at all. Then to be told that the quieter section actually was closing so we would need to be closer to the front, which we decided would be okay and went to our table.
The waitress then took nearly 15 minutes to even greet us and ask what we wanted to drink. Then took another 10-15 minutes to take our order.
We then finally ordered our food, got our biscuits and waited for our soup. The waitress asked if we would like a refill on the biscuits which we did and then were promptly forgotten about again and they were never brought.
When our food finally arrived 40 minutes later it was ICE COLD. Both our meals were cold, the butter for the crab was starting to re solidify and the plates weren’t even slightly warm to the touch.
We waited another 10 minutes for our waitress to come back and only after requesting the front hostess to please get her did she finally come back to ask how everything was.
We informed her the food was cold and she took it back. About 5-10 minutes later the manager comes and greets us and tells us they are remaking the food and apologizes for the inconvenience.
They didn’t take our sides back to be remade so when our food finally did arrive again they were soggy and gross.
When the “remade” food arrived back at our table it was still partially cold, the potato’s were dripping in grease with grease pooling on the plate and to add further insult to injury there was a hair in them so they went uneaten.
When we finally went to pay and leave the manager tried to offer us $5 off the bill as a courtesy which we told him was not fair compensation for this experience. He then bumped it up to 20% off and walked away even though we were still unsatisfied with the resolution, he simply didn’t care.
Needless to say, we won’t be returning.
The bathrooms are...
Read moreThis was the worst experience I've ever had at a Red Lobster location anywhere. It took almost an hour to get 2 appetizers. The coconut shrimp tasted okay, but we did not have enough pina colada sauce and the waiter did not come back to our table at all and we tried many times to get his attention. The crab stuffed mushrooms were edible, but there was no presentation, it was like a big gunk pile. After waiting over an hour for one main dish of shrimp fettuccine alfredo, the dish arrived, and it was not shrimp fettuccini alfredo, it was shrimp with pasta in some kind of butter sauce, and it was terrible. By this time, we had been there waiting for our lunch for well over an hour, and we were frusterated with this experience. It was impossible to get our waiters attention in an empty restaurant. I have been coming to Red Lobster here in Edmonton since the 80's, both locations, and it was hard to believe it is the same restaurant. I am sure they must have changed owners because the Red Lobster I know is a hundred times better. It's too bad, as we have always enjoyed coming here.
Hello owner or spokesperson for Red Lobster West Edmonton, please give me a phone number or email address that I can contact you with.
Additional info and update. I heard from red lobster suggesting that I private message the red lobster team on facebook. THERE IS NO RED LOBSTER TEAM ON FACEBOOK. EPIC FAIL. To whoever is managing red lobster in edmonton or whoever owns it....EPIC FAIL. You obviously don't care about your customers. Thank goodness there are hundreds of restaurants in Edmonton that do care about...
