Church's Texas Chicken — Restaurant in Oakville

Wasn’t going to write this review initially, but after another bad experience I felt like I must.

I have been to this location several times, first times weren’t bad, food is mostly tasty and seems fresh, as long as they get the order right.

Workers do not seem like they care one bit and appear clueless half the time. God forbid you put a order in through the phone or any delivery app.

Twice I had made an order through skip the dishes to arrive to find the food was not made despite the promised time on skip the dishes. This is especially annoying given I make the order in advance, as I come to eat while on my break from work, which the first time ended up in me returning late to work.

This almost happened again, order was not ready at the promised time, followed by being given the wrong order and when I informed them they began making the correct order as they had supposedly either lost the order receipt or simply forgot about it. I was told the order didn’t even exist despite it being displayed through my app.

The food I received this visit was disappointing. The sandwich buns were cold, disappointing portion on the onion rings, messy application of the mayo and lettuce. On top of this I had to rush to eat and make it back to my workplace to clock in.

Needless to say, avoid this location unless you are dining in and ordering at the counter with no restraints on time. Much better off going to another location or simply a better store such as...

Summary: chicken tastes good. Claims halal please do your own check. Price a bit on the higher end. Worth a visit from time to time.

The food:

The chicken mexicana sandwich was spicy. To my taste it was not. However, the chicken & bun was good. Bun to chicken ratio is very decent. Crispy taste is good. The odd choice is the bits of onion. Now I am all for onions in my sandwich but bits of it. It falls right off & the lettuce as well. Who though that was a genius idea??

-The fries were cold, not crisp, need some work there.

the honey butter biscuit: very good

the chicken wrap: very good.

the chicken thigh: very good. Juicy ( a bit oil but then this is fried chicken) crisp, tasty, large enough pieces, very nice.

Parking: Ample Washroom: yes. Did not visit Staff: In training, courteous and fighting to do their best In store dining: yes. Place is new...

I am absolutely furious about our experience at Church’s Chicken, which was one of our favorite fried chicken restaurants.However, I feel it’s my responsibility to warn others. My entire family suffered from severe food poisoning after eating here. As soon as we got home, we were hit with nausea, bloating, and diarrhea.

While dining, my son noticed that the chicken in his meal smelled off. We sent it back, and it was replaced with another meal totally different from the one he initially ordered, but clearly, this place has a serious issue with food safety.

What’s even more infuriating is that I am pregnant, andI am afraid the negligence of this restaurant would put my health and my unborn child at risk. Management must take immediate action to address this, or they shouldn’t be in business. To anyone thinking about eating here—DON’T. You’re risking your health by stepping foot...
