I had the pleasure of eating at Manoosheh in Kingston recently, and let me tell you - it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm and friendly Haider who made me feel right at home. Not only is he knowledgeable in the art of Mediterranean baking, he also makes an amazing Levantine Kunaffeh!
The menu at Manoosheh is filled with a variety of delicious Manakich options, and I have to say that the "Muhammarah" was particularly noteworthy. It was bursting with flavor and had the perfect level of spice and lemon. I also loved the other Manakich options that I tried, and couldn't help but clean my plate every time.
Aside from the delicious food, the atmosphere at Manoosheh was also top-notch. The place has a familiar and welcoming vibe, that takes you to Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon all at the same time. I felt truly at ease as I enjoyed my meal.
In short, I highly recommend Manoosheh for anyone looking for delicious and authentic Manakich in Kingston. The food is truly top-notch, and Haidar is an amazing, kind, knowledgeable and welcoming host.

Read moreSometimes food just fuels you. Yet other times it can nourish your body and then some, fill you spiritually. When I walked into Manoosheh most recently, I brought someone who had never experienced it before, to whom I had, by then, been extolling it for days. Behind the counter the owner rolled out pies, topped them and threw them in the oven. She took our order and told us she was on the phone with her mother in Lebanon, it was the only time of day they could talk. While we waited looney tunes played on the tv. It was the one where Jerry hits a couple pool balls with a cue and they bounce back into Tom’s face, and, when he opens his eyes, the pool balls are under his lids instead of eyes. You just don’t see that anymore. Then the oven door opens your eyes to the sight of ballooning manaqeesh. A few regulars came in while we ate at the bench by the window, and everyone chatted about their children. My companion ordered the labneh wrap, and we shared French fries. Every time I come here I think of friends and family and lost connections. And new connections far from home, across the ocean to the limestone city. I ordered the muhammara and put fries and garlic sauce...
Read moreI visited this restaurant today after reading all the positive reviews. Upon paying with cash at the front, I noticed the man was finishing an Uber Eats order without gloves. He then proceeded to make my order, putting on one glove and continuing with my food using his other hand, which don't have a glove on. This didn't make any sense to me. Before that, he had used both hands to handle my cash. Shortly after, he removed both gloves and continued with my order. This sequence of events made no sense to me, and I began to lose interest in my food. I asked for my money back, but was denied. I left my food on the counter and paid $45 for food I never ate. To make matters worse, they attempted to gaslight me by claiming they had washed their hands,etc...Overall, it was a terrible experience and...
