UPDATE..... I received a reply from the owner who shared their generic disappointment that we didn't enjoy our experience. They shared they wished they would of known about it at the time to better assist us and then wished us a Happy New Year...that's it??? That is a "COP OUT " statement. I have worked in the customer service industry for over 30 years and this reply lacks sincerity and genuineness, it's unacceptable! Remember, the staff was unattentive, we were practically trapped where we were seated, not to mention they also added 3 more people to our table. So, you CAN'T assist now or better yet, since you have our money, you DONT have to! This just SOLIDIFIES why we will not be returning to this venue and will share our experience with others.
DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE!!!!
It is sad that I have to write this review as this is one of the most stunning venues in Kingston. Our 1st experience at Mardi Gras New Years event a few years ago was outstandingly amazing, food, atmosphere and service...spot on.
However, this time it was HORRIBLE!!
Our server who came out of retirement to assist with the venue should of stayed home. He was not helpful at all and spent most of the time spinning in circles. I don't believe this was any fault of his own as the place was over crowed and poorly organized. I believe the poor fella was overwhelmed.
The way it was set up, was very inconvenient for all guests to navigate to the bar, get around all the tables or to even to get to the washroom. The bar was barricaded by dining tables in front of it and the whole length of the bar.
The food was COLD and mediocre. We had the Prime Rib and our girls had the Lamb and Salmon. Oh, the best yet... complementary champagne was DISQUSTING, tasted like a $4 dollar bottle of crap. I cant believe we a paid for this. We PAID about $120 each so for 4 of us well over $400. We sat facing the wall with all the beauty of the venue behind us. Are you serious, this is pathetic.
WE WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS VENUE!!! You have spoiled it for us, too bad. We looked forward to it and it was beyond DISAPPOINTING!!! If you were decent in any way you would give us a REFUND, but I am not holding my breath.
P.S. There were "NO" New Years decorations, NONE! NO hats, spinners, noise makers, streamers at all!! Seriously...its NEW YEARS 2025!! Sadly, after dinner "NOT" a single server came by to see us, we were completely FORGOTTEN...WOW and at over a $100 a head...we should NEVER be...
Read moreWorst experience even though this is the 3rd time we came here. The Turkey dinner and brunch was very great, but this gives us an unforgettable experiment.
False advertising alert, beware of the deal AYCE steak 8oz striploin on-going for 33.95$.
It may sounds we are greedy but all we want to share is the unpleasant experiment.
First, we came to anticipate to the deal of steak unlimited (ayce), planned to get 2 portions and go as it kinda a deal when 16oz steak for $34 (as we were told the standard size for steak is 8oz here)
Confirmed they said it is AAA quality, so happy even though it was waited 30 minutes for the first to come out but it look so beautifully cooked medium rare for the first order ✨
Then we ordered the second immediately as it took long, it came as half of the first (so 4oz maybe?) - it took 45 minutes! The explanation and understanding was they have big table order so I accept it.
So we decided to order another one with the hope it will make up for the second, it took another 45 minutes even though the big table already had their food. And surprisingly, it came with half of the portion of second order (we were so mad inside to take picture and it was pouring rain so we just wanna go fast). The whole concept was just annoying and like you want to push customer to go as the waiting time is so long to order the next one.
Dear Restaurant, if you planned to open a deal to customer, make sure you do it right. 1st thing: Yes understand steak is expensive, but this is out-of-standard story. 2nd thing: Who take 45 minutes to cook 2oz steak? (the last one we had were half of the second order) What even surprised me is when the server asked everything how was it, I told the truth it seem so funny how the next came half of the first, his replied was just "oh, is that so" and laugh even-though he ran the food. I still tip 20% as my standard of tip.
Best regards and you lost a customer forever today. It may not be seem big of a deal to you, but I just wanna share my experiment so everyone else can beware before participating in this deal 😇 2 hours just to have in total 14oz of steak, not worth my...
Read moreTwo couples for dinner. Great ambiance/atmosphere. Good menu choices and reasonably priced. Our server messed up two of the four dinner orders. Mistakes happen...that part was fine. Filet mignon sent back because she delivered it and said it was rare when I'd ordered medium. Our friend had asked for fries with his steak and got a baked potato. It took a VERY long time for my meal to be returned and our friend's fries were delivered at the same time. The others were long done their meals (which they said were excellent). My new steak was very well done and our friend no longer really needed his side of fries (that should have been with his steak). I didn't eat my meal that was overcooked (and I would have been eating dinner alone at this point). The server dismissed concerns and I asked to speak with the manager. He was also quite dismissive and looked at my uneaten steak and said it was cooked medium. He offered (reluctantly) to adjust the bill for my uneaten meal (and then did so with a discount of $8.39)??? It was not the mistakes that made me feel compelled to write my first ever negative review but how this was handled by the server/manager.
UPDATE - A conversation with owner (Paul Fortier) and all efforts were made to address concerns in an appropriate and respectful...
