Five Stars! Fresh, Delicious, and Friendly at Halibut House! I had a fantastic experience at Halibut House Fish & Chips recently, and I couldn't wait to share it!

The Vibe: The restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere. It wasn't fancy, but it felt comfortable and casual, perfect for a relaxing meal.

The Service: The staff were the real stars of the show! They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful. They made sure I had everything I needed and were genuinely happy to answer my questions.

The Food: Now, onto the most important part – the food! It was absolutely delicious! I tried the shrimp and the fish & chips, and both were fresh and cooked to perfection. The shrimp were plump and juicy, and the fish was flaky and flavorful. The chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, just the way I like them. I also enjoyed the dipping sauce – it was creamy and complemented the seafood perfectly. The salad was a delightful surprise – it was fresh, colorful, and packed with a variety of veggies. The portion sizes were generous, and I left feeling satisfied but not overly stuffed.

One Minor Hiccup: The only downside was a slight fishy smell coming from the crab dishes being prepared. It wasn't overwhelming, but it was noticeable.

Overall: Despite the minor fishy aroma, my experience at Halibut House was fantastic! The delicious food, friendly service, and inviting atmosphere make it a place I'll definitely be returning to. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I went for breakfast Ordered white toast Breakfast was brought to me I had to wait for the toast When it came it was burnt Waitress said If it's overdone I will take it and get you a fresh order of toast Already waited after my breakfast was brought to me Now I have to wait again The waitress did the same thing to everyone that was in eye sight from me Then when I went to pay She says I didn't charge you for your coke because your toast was burnt This is what she was doing Place your order to the cook Put your toast down in the toaster toast would pop up before breakfast would be ready get cold Then when order was ready Put your toast down again bring your breakfast Bring you toast which is burnt now and promo something on your bill to make you happy and so you will still tip I didn't go to be part of a hustle for some desperate waitress Food cost must be higher when she's working Every one gets something for free at the cost of the owner Customer aren't going to complain they are getting something for free The owner is paying for everyone to get 2 orders of toast and something else on their bill for free Sad that this waitress thinks this is a good practice I won't be back Lots of places to get a good breakfast and get it all at once...

This place is actually sad, employees look over worked, the food cleanliness was frightening and the kitchen put my friends and my own breakfast on the same plates and expected us to pick off of the same dishes. Gave us half a portions of homefries and states were supposed to share them off one plate although we both ordered the largest meal the grandslam. The waitress wouldn’t give me her name or a number to speak to an owner. She threatened to take my licence plate number down if I didn’t pay for the food me and my friend were not eating. The whole place is a disaster and led to a customer following me and my friend to the south end location. Harassing us, telling staff at the location we bolted without paying although that was not the case. I told the server I would pay if it’s a big deal but we will not be eating the food and her attitude was very disrespectful stating she’s going to write my licence plate down for being an unsatisfied customer. This store needs to be closed my Durham region health department. I filed a police report on the customer that followed me and I will not be returning to this store. Steer clear unless you want terrible food, bad service and strange customers...
