Filipino bao buns by @Baomama_official we got the original crispy chicken which was perfectly crispy, juicy, flavourful and the most impressive thing was the different texures. I’ve never had crispy chicken in a bao. It works so well!
Spicy crab roll and spicy salmon inari pocket by @sushiagain_official the chef’s had the nicest smiles and were so kind! They helped us with the menu were very fast and professional. The food was really good the inari was perfect I’ve never had better.
Affogato by @gabeandpancha handcrafted ice cream flavours. I got cookies and cream in espresso. Need I saw more? It was a slam dunk. Fantastic combo! From what the other chefs tell me everything is outstanding particularly the boozy flavours.
Caldereta gnocchi by philippnitalian so I’m not picking a favourite because every place I went to had excellent service, fresh and delcious food and something different. This one was a very new experience. It’s a Filipino/Italian place and ive had both of those cuisine’s multiple times and this still felt new, interesting and so delicious. The chef also had a lot of charisma and he really made me want to eat there again.
Falafel bowl and pakora by tastoria_kitchen this is a plant based restaurant. This is the dish we ate the most. It was so refreshing it makes my mouth water just thinking about it. They have a few things pre-made but most of their dishes are fresh to order and wow can you tell. They were so knowledgeable, charismatic and kind. We bonded with them immediately because of their passion and creativity. I can’t wait to try whatever they come up with next🤤
What a pickle-zap’s by @zapspolishstreetfood polish street food. The best way I can describe this is an open face sandwich meets a pizza. What a flavour bomb! I loved it! The woman who served us(I think she’s the owner) guided us through the menu and helped us narrow down our choices. If you have a hard time making decisions I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is excellent and she is really good at helping you make the best choice for your flavour preferences.
Barbacoa taco by @calitacos70 Mexican is my favourite cuisine particularly tacos and this place did not disappoint. The layering of flavours was impressive I could’ve taken the whole taco apart and enjoyed every component on its own. I’m pretty sure they make everything themselves. I know they Make their tortillas and they were probably my favourite part. Fresh pressed and grilled to perfection!
Chicken tenders by @churchstexaschickenca I’ve had church’s many times. Always great, always consistent, crispy, juicy, great dips great customer service. It’s nice to have them at this location because they are such a classic.
This place feels very special. They have built a very impressive community of passionate restauranteurs who speak very highly of each other. I can’t wait to go back and make my way through more of...
Read moreI dropped by the Market at 70 King during their soft opening period. It's Downtown Oshawa's new premium food hall. cocktail bar, and event venue. Their grand opening is this Friday, July 19th.
The place is nicely done, with attractive fixtures and furniture. It has a rich history dating back to 1929 as a luxury hotel, later hosting celebrity guests and concerts.
After being closed for over two decades, Market at 70 King is born! They have some really good restaurants in there, offering delicious food. I tried a few things and they were all good. The vendors were all friendly and welcoming.
Sushi Again Their Spicy Crab Hand Roll and Miso Soup hit the spot and satisfied my immediate hunger. Both were very tasty.
BaoMama I had their Classic BBQ Pork Bao, filled with very flavourful pork. It was absolutely delicious, with tender pork and nice textures.
Gabe + Pancha's A scoop of Mango Ice Cream and a Blueberry-Lavender Lemonade were the perfect finish to a good meal. I should have left space for their yummy looking cookies. Next time.
This food hall is a great addition to downtown Oshawa. I'll definitely be back to see it in full swing and try more food! Best wishes to all...
Read moreThis is a must visit if you like trying quality food and want to try different vendors. It’s Oshawa’s version of Chefs Hall in downtown Toronto. These local chefs and vendors really are putting out delicious quality food. The zaps or polish pizza were fab! The what a pickle was great we just had them remove the bacon. Bao mama was fantastic as well as sushi again. Cali tacos is fab and a great option for vegetarians. Now thing to note is just like chefs hall this is not cheap eats. Although it says street food it is premium quality so do not come here expecting a deal. I forgot to take a picture of the inside but it’s such a beautifully decorated space, great vibe, and lots of space. If the weather is nice the patio is a must. Supporting local is important to me as the money is going directly back into our community so I don’t mind the pricing at all especially for the quality. So for just under $20 you can try one to two nice dishes but I think for a better experience $20-30 would allow you to try more or coming with a friend or group and sharing different dishes works great as well. I have not tried everywhere but looking...
